Maybe for girls. Guy's don't care. Show me a scene where you can tell the girl loves to fuck and is good at it and that's all that matters. And none of this fake shit where the guy tells her to say something and she doesn't but you can tell she's totally bullshitting.

Yngwie 05-03-2008 04:27 PM

So you want someone to partner up with you, but they have to bring 99% of the required stuff? Why not just have your "writers" write up story lines (scripts etc..) and sell those to people/companies?

If I was to write a script that I wanted made into a movie do you think that I could get movie companies to foot the bill for everything, but I just bring the story and I get a %'s of ALL profits? Unless you are going to provide more than the story no one will take you up on this "deal"

But, like I said, why not write up a bunch of scripts with good story lines and sell those to people who need them? That alone would create business. The better they like your work the more people they will tell and the more scripts you end up writing. Maybe in the future you get contracts with certain companies because they love your work and want you to be exclusive to them so they will pay you much more.

The way you're thinking is quick easy money with no BIG expenses. Think realistically and long term.

but what the hell do I know.

I don't "want my script made into a movie". I'm not exactly sure how you tilt your head, but keep some perspective here, this isn't the 50's, and adult (altogether) isn't MGM.

That aside, yes, scripts get optioned, the studios foot the bill for everything. Deal can and often does include a % of the gross.

Your question essentially is, why not make standard one fits all suits, and then if people particularly like them they may well order to measure.

I can make standard one fits all for people who want that, but I am also offering tailored to measure suits for people that would like... you know... fit ?

I'm not even sure how this can be explained any clearer. Maybe this will help : Write five pages about some person you will first meet later tonight. Better yet. Write a CV for same. Does that help ?

I don't see how offering people a partnership is quick easy money. To me it'd seem partnerships are long term. But as you say, heck do I know.

As an aside, this thread is quite the window into the reality of how critically undercapitalized most adult "entrepreneurs" are, which tells a story of shrinkage and economic pressure all by itself.

It's a vicious circle, I'm pretty sure.

Two bit entrepreneur hires cheapest designer he can find, buys cheapest content he can find, throws up website. Conversions suck.

Under pressure from two bit entrepreneur above, good designers move away, shitty/outsourced/con designers are doing most of the work. Sorta.

Under pressure from two bit entrepreneur above, content producers push budgets as low as they go, to the point girls look downright fucking bored and forget about make-up or maybe, you know... some sort of sense. Maybe even a script. That someone read. Like, once, ever.

Net result is porn that sucks.

Porn that sucks is not distinguishable from more porn that sucks.

Surfers shrug and conversions drop.

Two bit entrepreneurs put even more pressure on costs.

Rinse and repeat.

It's fashionable to blame the tubes, the lubes and the pubes, but it may well be that nobody wants a shitty product. They used to not care, back in 1990, when any boob was good enough. But they've seen plenty by now, and why the fuck would they pay to see porn that sucks, even worse ?

It's time to make it better, not cheaper. Or at least, give it a shot.

Yes, I would definitely be interested in partnering with someone who will do 2% of the work and want 50% of the proceeds.

Anyone who wouldn't want to be in this situation is just dumb. :winkwink:

Didn't say that they had to be standard ones and I know that you're not writing movie scripts, but to have a GOOD porn movie with a GOOD storyline it will require a GOOD script. You can write custom ones and standard ones depending on the budget of the company. So what exactly were you planing to do? Write a regular story and whoever would partner up with you would have to go through the whole thing and split up lines for the characters and all that shit? So your job is simply writing a story yet still make a %'s of the income?

Sorry to say, but not even a crack whore would go for that. Obviously you don't understand what I'm saying at all. Lets see if I can break it down in easy steps.

1. Write a bunch of good stories. (Standard ones and make sure to copyright them)
2. Show them to people who might be interested (The standard ones are used as examples)
3. If you have people interested ask them if they would like a custom one. They can give you the rough idea they want and you write according to the info that they give you
4. you sell it to them

After awhile you would gather up more clients IF your work is good. Your current idea is only beneficial to you. Ya, they may get to use your story, but in the process they are paying for EVERYTHING while you pay for nothing. I guess I should tell sponsors that when I send them sales no matter if they stay I still get paid 50% or more every month for life.

For what you want all I would give you as a %'s is MAYBE 3% and that's being generous. All I'm saying is that you need to rethink your approach.

This thread delivers... what I don't know.... but it is delivering.

fluffygrrl 05-04-2008 12:20 AM

Bunch of impulse posters in this thread have these very well fixed, but sadly irrelevant preconceived notions as to what I'm saying. Let's get through some of them (read this until you comprehend it, then learn it. There will be tests later on, all through the reminder of your life) :

1. "partnership = 50%". That'd be a very narrow special case of a partnership. A partnership is any arrangement in which two or more entities agree to specified work together for unspecified gain. That's all it is. Whenever you are working with someone, but can not specify the dollar ammount that work will earn you, you're in a partnership. Some may be suckier than others, but there's no intrinsic fairness, equality, or other such unexamined "implicit social justice" ingredients to it. A partnership is just a deal, and like any deal, it's as good as the people making it.

2. "there can be a situation in which NO deal can be made". The only case when a deal can not be made is when the parties aren't trustworthy. Claiming that someone doing one fraction of a job, and someone else doing the remainder, can not result in a partnership is essentially saying "I'm not a businessman". It makes you look bad, because then what are you, a con man ? Way to give yourself away, and it's not the first time you do in my threads, they're kinda designed for it, it's still kinda sad.

3. "fluffygrrl is evil/a guy/mentally so and so/etc". Yeah, right.

Quote:

Tell you what, I might agree to 3% and I might agree to 0.3%, and I might agree to nothing at all till you make your investment back, and I might agree to 0% if conversions are under 1:x and 1% if they go over 1:x and 10% if they go over 1:y and 50% if they go over 1:z, there's no limit as to what the deal can be.

It just has to make sense for both parties.

Text is traffic, among other things (such as retention).

Why are you posting here anyway ? I wouldn't partner up with the mentally ill.

For starters, the fact that virtually nobody of the more aggitated, obviously unemployed contributors to this thread seems to be able to write down one correct sentence ?
