Thinking of getting a handgun

I already have rifles, just want a handgun. What do you have? What do you recommend? Of course there are hand guns for general purpose, marksmanship, etc. I'd probably use it for target shooting, but at the same time, need something strong enough make sure anyone coming in my house will be down for the count when I hit them.

I'd go the the H&K USP Tactical, it's a great gun for the range, and has the "protection" power you're looking for.

Highly modifiable, so no worrys there

However you can never go wrong with the classic .9mm beretta

But if you're looking for that show piece that catches everyones eye I'd go with, no not the desert eagle, its WAY to played out....

Never fails to bring a gun range to a stand still no matter what.

You have some good suggestions here already
to add another, you might consider a Beratta PX4 Storm,
available in 9mm, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP

http://www.px4storm.com/

and another Heckler & Koch you might want to look at,
the HK USP .40 or maybe a few others.

Smith & Wesson Model 500 .50-Cal. Magnum Is The King Of Handguns

http://www.popularmechanics.com/outd...s/1277336.html

Smith & Wesson crowns the new king of handguns with its Model 500 S&W Magnum revolver.

http://www.shootingtimes.com/handgun.../monster_1103/

http://www.gunsandammomag.com/ga_han...405/index.html

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.500_S&W_Magnum

https://youtube.com/watch?v=RoW8nHIVuRk

[youtube]RoW8nHIVuRk[/youtubne]

https://youtube.com/watch?v=vPClbqPP4ic

The new .500 S&W Magnum dwarfs other big-bore cartridges that are currently available for production-manufactured revolvers.

the top one is the .50 compared to a .44 Magnum

Finally out-framed: The Model 500 literally dwarfs an 83?8-inch-barreled Model 629 .44 Magnum N-fame. The weight differential is considerable--about 50 ounces vs. 72 1/2 ounces. For additional security, the M500 features a ball detent lockup.

The X-Frame Model 500 Magnum Masterpiece (T) makes a large-frame Model 629 .44 Magnum look petite in comparison.

Yeah, do you pay attention when you're watching it? More "innocent people" die as a result of guys being in their home...than a result of some attack out of the blue.

and "innocent people" doesn't mean people putting themselves in a position or with the people that will result in having their brains blown out.

strange american's living in your little made up world of fear
