It's not worth it.

1) My PT doesn't do 28 miles to the gallon. 16 to 18 at best.
2) Secondly, based on the current price by my house of $3.90 a gallon the savings would be $387.985 a year.

Gas would need to go to $5 today, so that in three years you would get back the $2,500 back.

They say its limited to 12,000 miles on the vehicle that is purchased under the program. However they also say it could be used on other vehicles.

So does that mean like they only keep track of the 12,000 miles on the one you purchase. Could I buy such a car and just drive to the gas station and sit there and buy gas for people all day?

plus you can get better equipped lesed cars from honda, toyota for less monthly payment and have no worries about maintenance...

Honda Accord -vs- chryshler sebring.... look at the MPGs and what not and lease payments... you dont save a penny... this marketing wil get some buzz and quickly die as all the economist prove it to be worthless on tv

Breaking even is dependent upon gas reaching $5-$6 a gallon for a sustained period of time like a couple of years.

I'm sure there is a mechanism in place that takes into account the MPG and the yearly driving limit so that you can't use this to fuel a dozen other cars. Because if that were possible, then this is a great deal.

Interesting approach: "Our cars fuel economy sucks so bad that we'll pay for the gas."

However you have to put the initial gas purchase on a credit card. Since the average consumer in the US has 8,000$ in credit card debt, the odds of being able to pay that off immediately are low. Visa must be paying Chrysler something super nice for that one.

Only the performance SRT vehicles, the Dodge Viper, Dodge Challenger, Jeep Wrangler, and commercial vehicles such as the Dodge Sprinter are excluded from the program, Press explained, as they are known to be thirsty vehicles.

Ahahaha.. thirsty vehicles... bloody hell what an idiot.

So were down to blaming cars that are MADE to suck gas because you need high torque and power to get those 300+ horses a runnin? Sheech.

I call it super marketing, cos they know most people who go in to buy a new car has the prices of gas in their mind. Plus people (most) dont sit and calculate all this, they read, gas for $2.99 for threeyes, 12K miles a year and they jump on the deal.

Its like incentivised offers. I have given a way free DVD players to users who signed up for 12 months worth of adult videos from me . DVD player cost me only $29.99 from costco, I made 10 times more from comission from these horn dogs LOL.

How long the DVD player worked wasnt my problem, hehee , but most costco stuff are pretty good.

with it being capped at 12k miles annually its worthless, if they didn't have a cap somebody like me could take advantage of it using it on other vehicles BUT seeing how all of the chrysler vehicles get shitty gas mileage this thing doesn't make sense at all.... if you care about gas mileage buy a civic to go back and forth to work in.

I own a civic hybrid and drive about 5k miles a month but for normal people the hybrid isn't even close tow roth it.
