Sixx:AM - Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe's new band?

Anyone hear these guys yet? Their album The Heroin Diaries is a very good album, I like it alot. I found it by searching for the song Life is Beautiful because I kept hearing it on the radio and didn't know who made it and I love it.

Alittle Info:
Sixx:A.M. is a rock band formed in 2007 by Nikki Sixx, DJ Ashba, and James Michael. The band released The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack in 2007, which is based upon Sixx's novel, The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star.

The Album:
The Heroin Diaries is a concept album written by Nikki Sixx, James Michael and DJ Ashba and recorded by their band Sixx: A.M., which serves as the companion soundtrack to Nikki Sixx's autobiography, The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star. "Life is Beautiful", the first single off the album, was originally posted on Sixx's MySpace page; it "picked up momentum" and entered the radio charts, debuting at #26 on the Billboard rock singles chart. It peaked at #2 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. The album was released on August 21, 2007. There are 13 tracks on the album, with one taken from each chapter of the book.

They are not bad. They are touring with Crue Fest this year. Crue, Buckcherry, Pappa Roach, Sixx:A.M. I snagged tickets right away should be a good show.

I actually bought the album after hearing "Life Is Beautiful", which is a great song, but I didn't think the rest of the album was that good.

DJ is a kick ass guitarist. He is good friends with my ex in LA, used to go to his local shows before he joined up with Sixx.

Life Is Beautiful is obviously the best song, but the rest are pretty good.

The Heroin diaries is far from being as entertaining as The Dirt was.

It's intereting but seems like every page is just a repetition of the previous one. I highly recommend to everyone, even if you don't like Motley Crue, to read The Dirt. What a great book! Unfuckinbelievable! Every page is just juicy over the top stupidities by the most obnoxious band ever.

The album for The Heroin Diaries? Not sure i'm interested...I've heard the single and it's ok.

Had the chance to hang out some with DJ (the guitarist) at the Hustler party last week and he was the nicest, down-to-earth guy. And a very talented musician.

I'd heard that song quite a bit on the radio, but didn't even know who it was...definitely a far cry from Motley Crue, but that's a good thing...side projects like this should sound and feel different, otherwise why not just make another Crue record (which they've already done as well )

Sure a lot better than the trash that Tommy Lee put out a year or two ago.

I think Sixx AM is the best solo stuff that Nikki has done, I like it.
