    This made me worry about Obama's chances

    I was talking to an older white american female. We were discussing the election as we both support or at least will vote for Obama. I pointed out that I am worried people will say one thing and vote another when the door is closed. She thinks he will win by a bigger margin because people are embarrassed to admit they like him in public but will vote him in private. And she is going to vote for him!

    Nice election the US is putting on here.

                  She is embarrassed to admit that the best democrat is a virtual unknown with no track record to speak of. The stuff she did know is mostly the counterpoints the republicans have thrown out so it was all bad but she wouldn't vote for McCain. So she will vote Obama but doesn't like to admit it.

                                      My mother was a big Hillary supporter, but she is now backing Barack since he got the nomination.

                                      She says she has friends who are still convinced he is Muslim and will not vote for him. Others won't vote for a black guy.

                                      It's sad that there are so many uninformed and ignorant people who are registered to vote.

                                                  Any time people have mentioned not voting Obama the race card was used (I am in Detroit so my results may differ from yours). I have a feeling that it will actually work the other way. People are afraid if they say they will not vote for Obama that they will be looked down on as closed minded.
                                                  However when in the voting booth and not afraid of peoples opinion the votes will change.
