Then when frying at proper heats the external pressure of the water inside of an item pushes out enough so that the external liquid (oil in this case) does not penetrate the food. This results in next to no oil being lost to the food itself. Even the small amount that could be on the outside is beyond minimal. At proper frying temps a fried food will contain less oil than a standard serving of vinegar based salad dressing. |
You guys would be so surprised if you knew what Mc Donald's made their fries from !!
And how they're so called cheese is made !! You want real fries then go to a place that serves Belgian Fries they are without a doubt the very best fries you will ever taste. Very very few places serve real Belgian Fries because they take hours to make and there is a storage issue. I get mine at a restaurant in Mission Beach , called Cafe Joie, the chef there prepares them fresh each day ( no frozen crap here ) from Russet Potatoes, huge fries that will fill anyone up. If you get to Mission Beach this summer drop by this place it will be like you are tasting fries for the first time |
McDonald's fries are horrible. Burger King's fries are horrible. Carl's Jr. fries are horrible. Jack in the Box fries are OK. In n Out regular fries are the shit. In n Out Animal Style fries are the shit. Once a month, though. More than that, and it's just plain wrong.

Animal Style fries are the shit!!!

as for In & Out animal style....oh hell yeah....and for all you haters about I&O fries and your raves about McPukies.....realize that at I&O its a REAL POTATO before you order....cant say that about McPukies fries....what exactly are their fries considering they can stay on a car floor for months and never looking any different.... I&O secret menu, awesome |
ah..because i couldnt get animal style fries out of my head.....i decided to look up according to McDonalds own site, what their fries are made of:
In & Out Fries: POTATO (according to In & Out website: At In-N-Out, we know a french fry is only as good as the potato it comes from. That’s why we use the highest grade potatoes and ship them fresh from the farm. Then we cut them right in the store, one potato at a time. And cook them in 100% pure, cholesterol-free vegetable oil.) http://www.in-n-out.com/freshness.asp McDonalds Fries: French Fries: Potatoes, vegetable oil (partially hydrogenated soybean oil, natural beef flavor (wheat and milk derivatives)*, citric acid (preservative), dextrose, sodium acid pyrophosphate (maintain color), dimethylpolysiloxane (antifoaming agent)), salt. Prepared in vegetable oil ((may contain one of the following: Canola oil, corn oil, soybean oil, hydrogenated soybean oil, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, partially hydrogenated corn oil with TBHQ and citric acid added to preserve freshness), dimethylpolysiloxane added as an antifoaming agent). *CONTAINS: WHEAT AND MILK (Natural beef flavor contains hydrolyzed wheat and hydrolyzed milk as starting ingredients.) http://www.mcdonalds.com/app_control...s.in dex.html YOU DECIDE!! |
Doc says to avoid fries due to cholesterol
|
NATURAL BEEF FLAVOR!!!....wtf...its suppose to be a potato!!!
|
McDonalds fries are good too but unhealthier... and I know that In N Out french fries are freshly made and made from real potatoes. It can be an acquired taste tho. The first time I ever had an In N Out fry I didn't really like it but then it grew on me and now I prefer it over McDonalds any day.
|
what ever you guyz say you just make me hungry:):):)
|
Never eaten there. We don't have those down here.
I'm not a big fan of fries, especially if they're thick and have a bunch of mushy potato junk in the middle. |
I love my fries covered in sugar and beef flavour.
Yum. |

Now they both use vegetable oil, McDonalds just breaks down the possible oils in their list which would be same as in and out (both should say Canola, corn, soybean, hydrogenated soybean, partially hydrogenated soybean, partially hydrogenated corn oil, and a acid to preserve freshness which McDonalds uses citric acid (vitamin c). McDonalds does use an anti foaming agent (you got them there, but then again In and out claims its only as good as the potato which is also a lie, its the damn oil). Next list of items is what is in the natural beef flavor. As stated before they used to just fry the potatoes in 93% beef tallow (fat) with some oil that gave the fries flavor. However people bitched about cholesterol in fries so they switched to the very inferior vegetable oil and beef flavoring. Yes beef flavoring is key in the best tasting fries. Quote:
