    Whats your favorite free messageboard software?

    Im looking at phpbb and punbb.

    either of these stand out to you as great free messagebords? Or something else?

              phpBB is the one piece of software more bloated and poorly written than WordPress. punBB is OK. If you want to make money with it and not fuck with security hacks and patches every two days, just pay for vBulletin.

                      Yea I'd say SM is among the best open source forum software.. way better than phpbb IMHO. At least from the surfer side of thing. In all honestly SM competes with VB when looking at it from a surfer POV.
