Video embedded on a Join page: Good or Bad?

I'm currently re-designing the join page on my site, and in doing so, I'm contemplating, aside from the graphics, embedding a short flash video within said page. Is it a good idea, or a bad one to have a video playing within the join page?

bad idea. It's one more thing to distract the user from pulling out their credit card

Hey! I was asking an honest question. No need to be sarcastic about it LOL

Think for yourself and perhaps you'll realize that he wasn't being sarcastic.

The video clip can be good but it better look good.

If it's all pixelated and crap looking the surfer might think all of your video content is.

I love mixing video in web layouts.. new trend.. big must for me..

Bad idea. Put the video on a tour page before the join page. By the time the surfer clicks through to the join, you want it to load as quickly as possible and you want entering the credit card info to be the only thing they're concentrating on. If anything, put some final sell text with the site benefits on that page (discreet billing, bonus sites, daily/weekly updates, etc).
