Nobody in america has heard of it have they? I have seen some episodes but whatever it could not be any worse than the original for film sets. All these revivals of old tv and film classics just seem to go backwards than forwards anyway with the bionic woman just coming to mind!
Even with the batman film franchise all they are doing is rehashing with old villains like the joker. I hated batman begins and thought the scarecrow effort was diabolical.

It being on Sky1 doesn't fill me with hope.

It is known in the States somewhat, my mother was a fan when I was growing up so PBS must have shown it at some point. Then every man in my life has been a fan.

Didn't they all die in the last episode so I guess it would have to be starting again from the beginning.

Sky One (UK) has provocatively given the go-ahead for the development of two 60-minute scripts which could see the return to the small screen of cult TV classic Blake's 7, the BBC reports.

Blake's 7 ran from 1978 to 1981 on the Beeb, and is best remembered among chaps of a certain age for the presence of Jacqueline Pearce as the deliciously villainous Servalan*, who alongside Paul Darrow as Avon and Gareth Thomas as Blake, battled gamely against wobbly sets and decidedly low-tech special effects.

While Sky's announcement doesn't guarantee that a new generation of viewers will enjoy a revamped Blake's 7, Elaine Pyke, commissioning editor for drama at Sky One, Two and Three, said: "The time is ripe for a revival of a show that represents the best traditions of the genre, not to mention one of the best-loved and most successful dramas of all time."

Sky is working with Blake's 7 Productions, "a subsidiary of Blake's 7 Media who owns the licence to the show" on the development. If and when the Liberator will relaunch remains to be seen. ®

this was a great series and since it in the hands of blake 7 productions i have high hopes it will be a good remake

I'm really not surprised about Blake's 7 being given another chance especially with the success of the new Doctor Who and Battlestar Galactica. Sci Fi Wire has an article about Blake's 7 poised for Sky comeback.

I have watched a few episodes on PBS a few years ago and enjoyed it.

I remember this show from the last year I was in England in the early 80's... I thought it was lame, kinda like a grown up Dr. Who, but with way cheesier "special effects".

God no. Ever seen the pilot for the American version of the show? That is horror enough for a fan.
