What software is vital to a new PC
I am buying a pc with no software on it at all. Im just wondering, besides an OS what software is a must have. In the past i've always just bought computers that came with a bunch of software so I'm not really sure what I might be missing that I can't think of.

my 2 cents
the easy way - Windows XP w/ SP2 (not Vista), Microsoft Office, AVG - antivirus. or Windows XO w/SP2 (not Vista), Open Office (which is Free), AVG (which is free) or run Linux (Unbuntu - FREE), Open Office (Free) then the rest is free plugins, and patches - your prob. covered. Thats the very minimal.

If your in the design and dev side - get Adobe Master Collection CS3, thats about all youll need.
