Spammers are selfish pricks.

Well, they are not getting that from us. They may already have that from the 4 other companies who allow for all their records to be reviewed and copied.

There are record keeping requirements. In the event that you violate CAN-SPAM by promoting our sites via email, we are required to submit information to the FTC.

BTW, CAN-SPAM is a federal law and has always been. The same liability exists today as it did 4 months ago, you are just being informed about it.

Our staff is happy to answer all of these questions. I'm thinking it would be more effective to e-mail them versus posting on boards.

No, it sounds like the government doesn't want any excuses that someone "did not know" that they could not mail.

I am glad someone finally pointed this out - just sorry that it took this long in the thread to do so.

It is not a big deal it is just the Gov. asking Cyberheat to make damn sure that their affiliates know the rules.

But don't believe me. Talk to your corporate counsel.

They certainly aren't losing anything since I haven't promoted them in probably over a year and a half, but I'm not signing anything. Has nothing to do with me and it will stay that way.

sortie 04-24-2008 12:40 PM

Well, it looks like for me a good thing has come to an end.

All those years of legal dealings have finally paid off. :1orglaugh

Allie,

I signed it and updated my info.

But since I'm not an american citizen, and I don't have an SSN ID the form kept giving me an error, time after time. I filled it up with 000000000 and it went through.

You guys should think about making that field optional for non-US webmasters.

:2 cents:

In this situation, you could have also put N/A in that field and it should let you pass by. :)
Thanks for signing - We appreciate your business.
