I appreciate your comments.

I am almost done with my second year at school, I am going just to get the degree for my own self fulfillment (audio engineering), I don't know what I want to do later, I would like a job in the radio industry

I surely wouldnt waste my time earning debt while working on some papers that a geeky ass guy or lady will critique. Id much rather spend my time using my knowledge to build my empire.

Well, for you I guess it would be a waste, because you obviously already know it all. For the mere mortals, they might actually learn something that would enable them to work smarter and make more money.

I seem to notice that the mayority of people on this thread seem to think that personal development and acquiring greater knowledge is of no consequence. WTF???? It makes you think, does it not?. :2 cents::2 cents:

I got into adult after my masters, its definatly nice as a fall back, who knows where adult will be in ten years,

and paying it back is the last thing you need to worry about, its a good debt to have with low interest, look into an assistanship and you can get yours for free

c-lo 04-23-2008 02:13 AM

I'm working on my bachelor's at the moment. I'd recommend attaining at least some sort of degree. There's no certainty that the internet will always be so entrepreneur-friendly - so if nothing else, it's a good to have as a fall-back.

c-lo 04-23-2008 02:21 AM

It's a good thing, I mean.

I need sleep.

I think for some of us that are come from an academic background it is nice to keep our minds active with school. I work hard in this industry and did all throughout getting my first degrees. It is almost as if school becomes my hobby and I can think of few better hobbies than exercising my mind.

Yeah, if you are getting your masters in anthropology you may find it difficult to apply your newfound knowledge to the Internet; and if your life goal is to remain a webmaster then there is no reason to go past the 8th grade.

man, if i were checking some papers for a friend i wouldnt claim to be 'assisting them to get their degree'.

xsabn 04-23-2008 04:56 AM

i actually study civil engineering and architecture :) . its my last year :) . i will get my degree soon (i hope).

agreed :thumbsup:thumbsup

i almost went to MBA school almost 3 years ago, i didn't pursue that because i had other priorities.

if opportunity arises, i would definitely take it for the same reason RTP said. :2 cents:

I dont know it all. I just stated a FACT. Having your masters will not help you to be a better webmaster or make more money for that matter. Its wasted time that could have made you money instead of investing in a worthless paper dimploma. I never once said it doesnt educate the individual who seeks one. I also never said it was not enlightening, fun, or even fulfilling. Just worthless. :2 cents:

I've been studying computer programming to one degree or another since I was 7 years old. I want to eventually get a Ph.D in computer science but can't justify actually going to college. I've been to colleges for various events and like the atmosphere but just can't justify it when I'm doing well on my own and there's so much opportunity everywhere.

Why waste 6 years to get one when you could have spent that time becoming a millionaire?

You are so right !!!

You are wrong on all counts.

Redmanthatcould 04-23-2008 08:06 PM

Got my BA in Philosophy at UCLA. Still thinking about going back for an MBA, but that would be the only thing I'd consider.

Sarah_Jayne 04-24-2008 02:45 AM

Not sure why education always has to be about money.

Easy to say that. How about proving it with some reasons. How in the world is getting my masters going to make me a better webmasters and make me more money being a webmaster? Right after enrollment you are allready in debt.
