If you want family oriented, fun games or to play with friends - get a WII.
I wouldn't bother getting a PS3 as theres really nothing good for it.
All the intense shooters and other good games are for the xbox 360.Comment

Wii for parties and when friends are over and PS3 for everything else.
The only thing that the Wii really has going for itself are its epic titles (Zelda, Metroid, and Mario, for example). And even though the party games are fun as hell, they're terribly boring by yourself (even if you are unlocking levels).
The PS3 has many more advantageous qualities to it than the Wii does. For one, I can play all of my PSone and PS2 games on it seamlessly; Two, the graphics are absolutely phenomenal (especially on a great TV -- I got a 61" DLP); Three, I don't even use the DVD player on the home theater system -- the upscaling on the PS3 is brilliant.
I can't really talk smack about the 360 because I have only played a couple of games on it. Graphics on the 360 look decent. I just can't stand the bulk of the controller.

Well said, certainly Xbox has a big advantage over PS3 in selection of games right now. In time the PS3 will catch up especially once it gets duel shock back.
I have box PS3 and Xbox and I sure an't buying any games for the PS3 till something decent comes out, the xbox version is always better because of Xbox live where everyone has a mic.
looking forward to granturismo when the final one comes out though.

Some of the things they rave about for consoles really surprise me. First person shooters are absolute crap on consoles, not just the graphics, but the control is lame. I hate those analog sticks...who ever invented them should be shot.
Now racing games, that's another story. Consoles rule for that action.Comment
