:mad RANT: Has the U.S. government RUINED the country?

What the HELL is going on with the U.S. government?

Can someone please explain to me WHAT, if anything, positive has the U.S. government done to solve the problems of the country and it's citizens in the new millennium? The United Nations has identified the most critical global issues that must be addressed in order to move towards SOLVING our planets problems with the establishment of the Millennium Development Goals.

What are the UN Millennium Development Goals?

The eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) ? which range from halving extreme poverty to halting the spread of HIV/AIDS and providing universal primary education, all by the target date of 2015 ? form a blueprint agreed to by all the world?s countries and all the world?s leading development institutions. They have galvanized unprecedented efforts to meet the needs of the world?s poorest.

1. Eradicate extreme poverty
2. Achieve universalprimary education
3. Promote gender equality and empower women
4. Reduce child mortality
5. Improve maternal health
6. Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria & other diseases
7. Ensure environmentalsustainablility
8. Develop a global partnership for development

SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD START BUT....

My question is: has the current U.S. government even established it's own Goals for Solving it's own problems? If so what are they and most importantly can anyone tell me if any of them have even come close to a solution!

ISSUES
1. Education
2. Poverty
3. Unemployment
4. Healthcare
5. Financial Accountability
6. National Disaster Relief
7. Environmental issues and Pollution
8. Taxes
9. Immigration
10. Fair Trade

Opinions on these issues or any other that is negatively effecting the U.S.are of course welcome but how about some ideas for solving some of the current problems the U.S. is currently facing??? What do you think?

We're in maintenance mode. Nothing is going to be done for a long time, if ever.
