From 30 at a movie up to 2k. Depends on who I am with and where we end up....

If I just go out to the bar then about 50-100 if dinner too then 200ish depending on what I eat, and who I decide to pay for and how many shots / drinks we have

depends on the kind of night out...if its just dinner and drinks with a few friends then anywhere from $100-300...if I pick up the tab then $1000+

Nice dinner with the girlfriend and drinks $200-500

Taking the parents out for dinner $200-300

Night out to Macau for some gambling and drinks...$1000-$5000

totally depends ... go out and grab a few beers and eat something, about $10 - $20 LOL

it's cheat down here ... though if you go out to party and want some nice bitches, VIP boxes at the clubs and a nice suite to take them back to ... well, then you're up in the $1000's even here in Bolivia.

Not much... we don't really "go out". We may go out for dinner... $50. And then we will go grocery shopping... that's where we spend our money. Love it. I would much rather buy groceries than spend $50 on dinner.

lol me and my gf will go grocery shopping and at the end of it after we've paid we realize we could have just eaten out for the rest of the week...damn you marmite (for my gf not me, personally i find it disgusting)

I live in Hong Kong and we go out way more here than we did when we lived in the US...of course if you really want to you can eat cheap and still get quality food here, wasnt the case when I was in SF.

Dinner for my BF and I usually costs about $60-70. If we do a movie about $40. If we hit a bar after the movie $30. $150 is about right. And he pays.:thumbsup

yeah everything you mentioned is absolutely correct. As far as variety of food I have yet to see another city that even comes close to what you get here, you can spend as little as $1 of some good noodles at a small corner place or spend $1000 at a fancy restaraunt. The one thing about HK food is just cause it's cheaper doesnt make it any less in terms of quality.

Believe me, during my single days I used to eat out pretty much every day and I probably spent less than I do now on groceries.

Oh and if you ever come for a visit make sure you have the curry fishballs from the roadside stalls, sounds bad but tastes awesome and is a tradition.

What's it like living there as an american (just assuming you are sorry)? I've always wanted to visit.

Where do you guys live that you can go out for under $100? When I used to bar hop in San Francisco I would drop $200-$300 easily. If I hit a strip club it would end up being a $600 + night. Those of you spending less than $100 must live in the suburbs, drive to one location and never leave.

Hmm well a fun night of dinner, drinks, and pool is about:
$60 for dinner
$15 per hour on the pool table
$30-50 for drinks
soo I guess about $120ish.

I left SF/bay area to come back to live here so for me this feels like home. I can't speak for all Americans who live here (and there are queit a few) but I personally know more than a dozen who moved here on temporary status (work contracts with Investment banks) and then moved back to the US and then within a year moved back here permanantly.

if you have never been I would recommend visiting atleast once in your life, it's definetely different from anywhere else. Of course you can say that about most cities in Asia, each has their own charm.

Just dont come here if you are closterphobic, if you hate crowds, or in the middle of the summer if you arn't used to humid climates. Oh and PLEASE dont be one of those who come here and only eat at places like Mcdonalds or Olivers (a posh version of Subway).
