What OS are you using right NOW?

And post why you're using it.

Ubuntu here... was testing it, now i love it... still use Vista for certain things due to available software (and those that don't jive with Wine)

Linux Fedora 8. Soon to be 9, later this month.

I did use Windows XP X64, was ok. Vista was even better but neither compare to a well tuned Linux machine.

XP on laptop and vista on desktop. Not going to upgrade vista on the laptop until I buy a whole new laptop. I like both of them.

i was thinking about that in the shower earlier... mac ppl talk about the lack of virus's for mac.. while most ppl think why bother making virus's for the small % of ppl with mac... i was thinking, why don't they think 'they think they're untouchable' and 'they have more money than the avg PC user' and attack the hell out of them?

the only reason im guessing is that they dont know enough about macOS to hack it up, or the tools they use aren't there... or maybe even mac has better security? anyone in the know?

The users launch trojans themselves. I.e. there is no reason to hack anything. For example you are installing some cool new ICQ client on your Mac computer. Everything is ok if it's really just an ICQ client but not a spyware which sends your logs to someone else. The same thing with other programs: games etc. Mac users install them on their computer and believe these programs can not be harmful because "Mac is secure". Very pathetic

The PC users at leas use anti-spyware utilities to check the applications before to install them, and they also use firewalls. Course there is no 100% protection against spyware, but PC users have at least something. Mac users are totally unprotected against trojans, and they have no idea how many spyware programs they already have running on their "secure" computers

Kubuntu. I have to admit it took me forever to get some software like Photoshop running on it but that was time well spent. Other than an occasional Firefox crash, I haven't had any problems since I installed it over 6 months ago.

I still have XP on my smaller partition. I use it to run my music production software (Cubase) that requires drivers for hardware not supported by Linux. Since music is just a hobby, it doesn't get used nearly as much as Linux.

No I went with the 32bit version for the exact reason you described above. The new 7.10 64 bit release installs Flash just fine from the restricted packages, you just have to enable it.

XP I was dual booting with vista until some spyware rendered it unusable and every cleaning app fully updated wouldn't fix it...

I'm probably going to put ubuntu on now that I have 2 monitors, it had trouble with the samsung monitor I was using and yes this was 7.10

going 64 bit is tempting just so that I can load up some more RAM!
