This thread title is misleading...it's not like he has a job with a salary of 4.2M....that's just what he made in one year.....not what he makes every year.
I'm sure the book income will drop substantially over the years.
Compare sizes of donations per candidate. If I recall Obama has a whole shit load more small dontations that either Clinton or McCain.
Whos comparing here? Obama JUST paid off his student loans?? Who you fucking kidding. Him and his wife were making 300K a year before he even got in to whole thing.....
Lick my nut.
True, however Obama has managed to be more funded than McCain or Hillary for the campaign.
Obama is buying the presidency.
Then I guess you could say that about every president (or any elected official) we've ever had.
Almost always, the winner of an election is the person who raised the most money.
They don't win BECAUSE of the money however.....polls push money more than money pushes polls, and people like to donate to a winner, so success brings in more money and it's a self-perpetuating cycle.
Obama is the only candidate in this race who isn't taking money from PAC's or federal lobbyists....he has over 1.3 million donors and his average donation is $109.

Yeah but do you know what it costs to go to Harvard Law School?
They did in fact just pay off their student loans recently. (They couldn't have made that up....it's something that the press can find out about very easily and they would have been crucified for lying about it)
You may want someone currently earning minimum wage to be President, but I think that having someone who is highly educated and has been successful in life makes for a better president.......as opposed to someone who inherited what they have (current president) or married someone who is successful (current democratic opponent)

So how is it that he's buying the presidency?
So blind and so stupid. More money you put in underdog, more control you have over him if he wins. You’re looking at one in white house right now. People like you will never learn.

yeah hillary is pretty unsuccessful... yale law school and first female partner in a big law firm is pretty weak... think before you speak.

Yeah...all those people donating the $2300 maximum are totally going to control him. He's practically the Manchurian candidate.
The great thing about this conversation is that you have absolutely no idea how entertaining it is to watch you say the things you say while calling the rest of us blind and stupid.

First off, I'm not speaking, I'm writing. If you're going to insist that people "think" the least you could do is reciprocate the same.
Second, do you honestly believe that her husband being Governor had nothing to do with her being made partner at that firm?
Do you really think that if she wasn't married to the President that she'd have had a snowball's chance in hell at getting elected Senator in New York? If she was just some "partner in a big law firm" as you say, who moved to New York solely for the purpose of running for Moynihan's seat, do you really think she would have gotten even 1% of the vote?
Not in a million years.
Hillary's campaign has been the single largest case of resume padding in the history of mankind.
We're just now finishing a presidency with a guy who got everything because of who his father was....do we really want to follow that up with someone who got everything because of who her husband is?
It's time for the aristocracy to stop and the meritocracy to begin TYVM.
No he doesnt make 4.2 mil a year. He made $4.2 million, one year. Because of book sales. I think if you write a book and can sell it you deserve the money.
