This latest film from the Wachowski brothers may not be the best movie of the summer or even a good interpretation of the original cartoon series, but I think this movie is going to look like no other movie we've seen before. I've seen the trailers on the big screen and this film has hyper color and visuals that are ground-breaking. Visually speaking, there is a lot of daring imagination to this film.
I've heard rumors that this film may end up being the costliest film to make to date. If that's true, it may be a financial flop. A lot of people have never even heard of Speed Racer and only real movie fans know much about Emile Hirsch.
On another note, I was at the Petersen Museum last weekend and they have the Mach 5 on display there with an interesting note.... there is going to be a street-legal peodcution model of this car based on a corvette chasis coming out. Only 100 will be made so you better put your bid in now. ;-)

I wasn't a huge fan of the original Speed racer anyways...I mean, it was worth watching, but not something I went out of my way to watch
