    $1.59 NEW historic low for the dollar

    1 euro = $1.5979
    who wants to bet it'll fall past $1.60 tomorrow

    god help us if America doesn't change it's ways, but hey McCain says he doesn't know shit about economy and that he doesn't really disagree with Bush on it

    add another war in Iran and maybe we'll see a total meltdown

      The European politicians wont want to see their economies tanking. They will eventually pressure the EU Central Bank to lower rates and bring the Euro down a bit. If they don't you'll be seeing US outsourcing companies opening in the next few years. "Just hire some cheap dirty Americans for that web design work"

              Sorry to disappoint you but it doesnt matter if a dem wins or not. We have a 59 TRILLION dollar debt to be paid and growing. The warfare-welfare state is the demise of the dollar and the demise of every empire. Might as sticky this thread because the dollar will continue to go down for the next few years or longer.

                  but I'm afraid, whatever the EU does, it won't be enough to counter the bad decisions the US central bank and government are making

                      the 59 is only if unfunded Medicaid, Social Security, etc. promises are added, but get your point

                                          This is happening because the spotlight and attention is on the US. We created the credit/mortgage problem however banks over seas are also in this mess. They just havn't reported/came forward with it.

                                          Eventually this year banks will have to spit out their earnings/losses and when this hapens we are going to a dramatic tank on the euro, Focus will be shifted off the US and onto the EURO and that will tank and the usd will gain strength and levels will go back lower.

                                          EUROs time is comming it wont happen till third quarter or so in 08 but it will happen.

                                              don't know where you're from, but if you're American, it typifies why America has such a hard time turning things around, you don't want to really face up to reality, if it's a negative one
