Here's what happened...
I was looking for a dedicated server for my tube site and I read many good things about phatservers here on gfy.... the thing is that I was a total noob when it came to servers.
So, I decided to send a friendly e-mail where I stated 1) It is a video Sharing Website and 2) I have no clue what kind of a server I need. I asked what kind of a plan and server I needed.
Sly from phatservers then told me to get the 3mbps plan (of course, now I know myself that this was ridiculous). But I had no clue and from hearing all the good feedback I trusted sly, so I chose that 150$ /mo 3mbps plan + 150$ deposit.
Let me mention some good things too - my server that I was using before them was a mess and we had a very hard time moving everything. But the people from phatservers tried their best and eventually successfully moved all my files.
They just got my site running and I was excited about that - but not for long because when I wanted to play a video clip it was very laggy and not watchable. I asked what was going on because I thought - dammit i got a dedicated server and now its all laggy???
They told me that I was already at 15mbps (which didn't tell me shit) and I was very frustrated and felt being scammed already. They said that they will remove it for over the weekend and see how much mbps my site was running at.
A week has past and I was of course very happy because my site was running so smooth and I thought that everything would be the way it was. But then all of sudden they told me to upgrade because my site was running at around 20mbps and I said that I cannot afford this and that I asked Sly before we moved if my site will run. Why didn't he just tell me that he cannot tell me exactly what kind of server I needed. So now I had to find a new server move everything again and at least I expected them to understand that they messed up and would refund my money.
NO THEY DID NOT! I explained to them that they scammed me into this because they told me to go with a 3mbps server, just to lure me into a way more expensive plan.
I was so furious and wanted to post here back then and wanted to tell my cc company to get my money back. When I told them that, they threatened me with the "the global collection agency" they worked with. They said that they won't refund my money but will cancel my plan and I won't be charged anymore. They said they won't refund my money because they didn't know that I had a tube site and bla bla.. then I sent them my conversation with Sly where it says "I have a video sharing website"... but nope they didn't refund shit because I was using 20 mbps for a few days that I did not even tell them to give free. So I lost $300 for nothing!!!!!!!
I thought fuck those cunts and that they were not worth my time.
But here's where it gets even better! Just 3 days later they post a thread here on gfy that anyone who signs up for a new plan will get the first month for free - no matter how much mbps they are using. WTF?? Thank you...
Okay so a month has passed.... I forgot completely about it... and earlier I got an email from phatservers.net with an invoice and the message
"Apologies for sending out Invoices late this month.
Here is your invoice for your accounting records.
Thank you for your business - we appreciate it very much."
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME????? This will be refunded for sure phatservers!!
And if you really are that great of a server company then fucking admit that you messed up one time and that you will just refund all my money.

If this is out of your budget, please let me know what kind of budget you do have and I will see what kind of package I can put together to sustain your needs.

Hi Fabian,
We normally require a written 30 day notice to cancel an account as per the terms listed on our site in section 8. When you signed up for service you agreed to these terms and should you try and charge back we will be more than happy to document everything to your Credit Card company and if necessary, will turn it over to the global collection agency we work with. As Sly already said, we are willing to cancel the account now and waive the notice to help you out since this did not work out for you, but we will not be refunding you any money as you were using up to 20 MBPS of bandwidth transfer while you were "testing" out your tube site. We set up the server and you used the service, therefore, you are responsible for the payments already made. We will have the server taken off line and cancel your account with billing.
