Nice feature... good work.

uno 04-10-2008 10:02 AM

Is it case sensitive?

I can't get it to ignore people, but threads...it's working and that's what I wanted it for.

I tested on OSX version of Flock and it also works 100%, ignoring people and threads.

No, at least... shouldn't be. But I have no idea what's happening with that OSX bug.
If you're using windows though, it should be able to handle usernames no matter what case you enter it in.

Wow, that's good to know. I know quite a few people are using Flock now. :thumbsup

Tried to install the latest version and I get

Firefox could not install the file at

http://www.tycamtech.com/extensions/.../ffvb/ffvb.xpi

because: Not a valid install package
-207

I'm pretty sure that means that the encryption keys aren't matching for some reason.
You may just need to uninstall and install again.
A pain, I know... but it will keep your ignore list intact.

FF3 is a bit of a pain still, hense the reason it's still in beta.

I did uninstall

Another quick update.... well, 2 actually.

First of all, I fixed a glitch where the bottom table, including new thread, page numbers and quick reply would be gone if the ignore list was empty.
Huge thanks to uno for catching that.

Secondly, I added a sub menu that's fixed to the bottom of the browser. Be default, it's off.
But if you'd like to have handy access to your User CP, New Thread and New Reply links, go to the options/preferences and check the box and presto, you get a small, handy menu no matter where in the thread or forum display you are.

This is ver 0.61. :thumbsup

Kick ass Stuey!

I got .60 to install but you posted

"Go to the user ignore list in VB and click on the "Import Ignore List to Extension" button and your vbulletin list will be magically imported into the extension for you."

Where is the ""Import Ignore List to Extension"" button at?

GatorB 04-10-2008 04:01 PM

never mind I found it. Thanks. Maybe I'll start using FF more often now.

Are there still boards using that version?
A lot of changes were made to vbulletin for 3.7... it sucks but I can't spend time making it work for older versions :(

Thee Johnclave 04-11-2008 12:16 PM

If you have a user in your ignore list will this extension also ignore their threads, as well as posts? I've begged for that feature.

BTW, I read the thread and did not pick up on that feature so if I missed it I apologize.

Nice work...

The latest version is 3.6.9 , the underlying code shows GFY as 3.6.7 which may or may not be accurate.

Yes, it will remove their threads, posts and quotes entirely.

You are correct, 3.6.9 is the latest. 3.7 is the one I used to start with (the actual vbulletin site) and then came back to GFY and a few other boards to make sure it worked with them.

Can you email me the board url that is 3.6.8 and doesn't work with my extention?
ffvb @ tycamtech.com
thanks.

Ok, I see what it is. It's not that they're using 3.6.8, it's the file naming format they use.
Much like DamageX's board.

Having my plug recognize a vbulletin site without conventional file names (forumdisplay.php, showthread.php) is in my to do list, it's just not as easy as you'd think, since every board modifies their templates heavily.

HighEnergy 04-11-2008 04:34 PM

So, I see.
Whatever the case it's still a kickass add-on for the vast majority of vB sites. :thumbsup

Thank you and... with that brings another wish fulfilled and another update.

ver 0.70
Now works on VBulletin sites using inline HTML file naming structure.

:thumbsup

This sounds like a bit of work for something that is only mildly useful (I mean to code this thing)... but I guess if you have ton of free time to kill then that's great :thumbsup

Not all that bad actually. Each update has been 30 mins or so tops. Hense some of my replies to people coming in so quickly.

It's just your basic javascript DOM manipulation of the HTML source. Find a common element, work off that and you're good to go.

Although, I'm sure that more involved extensions are a lot more complicated. I'm not ready for those yet.

HighEnergy 04-11-2008 10:13 PM

:2 cents: The single best feature?

Since it's a browser directive the site content is filtered without the need for the user to be logged in.
