Touchy subject, and surprising posts.. But I think there's a line to be drawn here that isn't being drawn. Are girls "degraded" by posing nude? no. If they have sex on film, are they being degraded? no! But I can't say I understand why guys enjoy seeing girls suffer on film. To me that's not sexy, and I like sexy. I respect women, and I don't get turned on by seeing women disrespected every step of the way. Which begs the next question.. As Too $hort said, a woman should be treated with respect and class, but a bitch is a bitch, and gets treated as such. A respectable woman with morals would have issues with taking degrading parts, and so it's in her court I guess. I don't think it's wrong for the industry to ask them though.. Touchy subject.

Honestly? No.
For me sex is very intimate. I don't care if someone handed me the world on a silver platter. I was brought up to have morals and respect for myself.

I have too much respect for myself,my husband,kids,friends and family do ever do that to myself and them.

I was offered an all expence paid trip to the bahamas.
The condition was that I had to sleep with other men and women and so did my hubby.

It was a trip for swingers. I said thanks but no thanks :)

I agree. The model is there to pose, not to be subjected to uncalled for touching or sexual suggestions. It's a workplace like any other with one or two major exceptions: 1) the employee is getting naked and posing provocatively; and 2) unlike most other work situations, models LIKE physical compliments. They are selling their beauty and sexiness, and unlike working in an office, for example, a well-phrased physical compliment makes the "employee" more comfortable, not less.

What I tell up and coming photographers of nudes is that compliments need to be tasteful and never personalized (e.g., "Your breasts are gorgeous" is a yes-yes; "I'd love to tit-fuck those things" is a no-no). Strangely, there seem to be guys who can't sense the difference.

My attorney once told me (and here I am forced to paraphrase), "If you and a model seem to be hitting it off and you'd like to advance to a social relationship. Wait until she is dressed and has been paid, and then invite her to something not-very-heavy, like coffee. If she says no, that's the end of it. On the other hand, if coffee seems to go well, invite her to something a bit more like a real 'date.' Dinner and a movie or something like that. Once you go out on a date, even if you end up breaking it off, and even if things go pretty sour, it would be very difficult for her to turn around and make sexual harrassment charges stick."

Oh, and I, too, have several women I love, including a daughter. I try to never do anything I wouldn't want her to discover, which is one of the reasons I don't do hardcore.

In the end it comes down to respect.

If you can't respect them for doing porn, how can you respect yourself for selling it?

I know that it takes all kinds. For me, looking at gothweb's content makes me just stare blindly at the screen and go "wow...", while a girl getting "degraded" just makes me say "ugh" and click the X.

The guys who like to see the degrading stuff - do they start out that way or do you think they work their way up to it? Maybe they get tired of seeing nude girls, then girls kissing other girls, then a couple screwing, then a couple of couples screwing each other...
Do you think they get bored with each "step' and work their way up until finally the only thing that interests them is the really nasty shit?

"Degrading" is being hired to do programming and development, yet also being expected to answer the phone because that's what girls do.
