Mitch,
Do you accept people from Canada?

Pornwolf 10-11-2002 12:18 AM

I'm pretty sure he does. Mitch accepts everyone from Budhapest all the way to Butte, Montana!:winkwink:

EscortBiz 10-11-2002 12:22 AM

great guys

xanx 10-11-2002 12:30 AM

Damn.... What A time to be breaking into this industry. Maybe I'll just go stand on the corner with a sign. Those guys actually do a pretty good donation to car ratio. It's all about the cardboard sign.

:pimp

Brown Bear 10-11-2002 12:40 AM

My conversion ratio for the past 5 weeks = 1:180

My conversion ratio for Thursday October 10th = 1:1368

I have no idea what the fuck happened on Thursday.

This happens every so often and I have no explaination, hopefully Friday will be back to normal. It always does go back to normal. I guess I'll know in 24-48 hrs from now.

Spoonie Luv 10-11-2002 02:13 AM

So I guess this is a bad time to get into the biz?

xanx 10-11-2002 02:18 AM

Crankerville... sounds like where I'm from. Damn meth heads!!!

EscortBiz 10-11-2002 04:56 PM

The week has been good but the past 12 hours have been real BADDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Pornwolf 10-11-2002 04:59 PM

Fuckin 'ell! The Sky is Falling! What the heck is up with ratios this week! This wekend is not starting off well!

Tipsy 10-11-2002 05:05 PM

Past few days hasn't been great but today has been fucking awful so far. Only certain sponsors though so I guess it depends who they use. Certainly iBill has been far lower than usual with a couple of the sponsors who use it.

Tipsy 10-11-2002 05:07 PM

You'd think with so many jumping ship they'd try to get the balance right rather than just blanket declining and making even those hanging on wanna move. Crazy situation.

EscortBiz 10-11-2002 05:08 PM

its not my biller because im not even getting decline emails

My Ibill sales are up. What percentage are declined who knows.

I am finding that some programs using other processors are down. But who knows why.

Which processors show declines these days?

E-Randy 10-11-2002 05:10 PM

Which processors are you guys using? I'm using Jettis for my processing and my sales have actually increased in the past two weeks.

NETbilling 10-11-2002 06:06 PM

And if you guys had control of your own scrubbing tools... you would know exactly what was going on.

My sales are the equivalent of jerking off with boxing gloves on! anyone try to get any answers from thier billing company? I did and I got the old everything is just fine on our end bullshit. They suck

Jayson 10-11-2002 07:10 PM

It makes a lot of sense that scrubs are harder.

Lets say the billers are expecting to lose volume because of this Visa crap. They have to keep their chargebacks within limits but as far as know, chargebacks are measured in the month they happen against the current volume, not back against the month the original charge occured.

So if you think you are going to lose 25% of your business as an example, and a chargeback takes a few months to come through, your 1% chargeback ratio really needs to be 0.75%. So you need to be doing something about that now and not in 3 months time.

I'm curious, how does Netbilling work with the .htpasswd files on our servers?

And how should a Canadian fill out the pre qualification form on your site?

Thanks!

Carrie 10-11-2002 08:20 PM

I'm amazed that no one has thought
"Hey, I wonder if since all of these hundreds of webmasters have bailed out of the Big 3 and gone to alternate processors, they've got to make up that money somehow so maybe they're shaving us across the board?"

Let's see - a few hundred thousand a week suddenly walks off to your competition, how are you going to make it back? When a TGP's top couple of trades leave, he just skims a little harder and forces more to his other trades to make up for it... who's to say the processors aren't doing the same thing?

Anyone checked their username/password lists lately to see if there's a few more in there than are supposed to be? Might be an interesting revelation...

frankfortuna 10-11-2002 08:25 PM

I'm surprised that no one has brought this up, but couldn't a case be built against processors who are in fact skimming? After all, theft of services is a fradulent activity.

EscortBiz 10-11-2002 11:01 PM

very funny the last 2 days all of a sudden at about 1AM EST I get a few signups all at one whats going on here

is cant be declines all day since I get emails

Anyone any idea whats going on the past few days spoken to so many people with the same shit somethin aint right

NETbilling 10-11-2002 11:40 PM

Shoplifter,

We manage the .htpasswd file just as most processors do. We add and delete only the passwords that we are managing as to not disturb any passwords from other sources.

If you are in Canada, you can either incorporate here in the US or we can help you obtain and offshore merchant account to use with our system.

You can fill out the prequal whcih is step #1 at: http://www.netbilling.com/signup.html. Once we receive your submission, our sales department will contact you Monday.

Does that answer your questions? Let me know if you need assistance.

Thank you, Mitch Farber

crazy patterens with ibill

Cyber3 10-12-2002 05:46 PM

I am up on sales, best month ever! I have my own pay sites and use Ibill, if they are scrubbing they are not looking my way?

My charge backs are under half a percent, maybe they are hitting the accounts that have a bad charge back percentage?

I guess it would help to know which processors and accounts have taken a dive, but as Chocker pointed out it's not wise to bite the hand that feeds you?

Regards,

Kevin

Very much so. Better maybe to switch short term to another sponsor and wait for the storm to die down before moving back again. Shame though. Got one sponsor who does well for me has dropped over 50% in conversion ratios from the same traffic and numbers are high enough for it to be a true drop - of course the fact that others I know have the same problems too helps confirm it. Oh well - they'll probably pick up again if not plenty others out there. For the reasons said though I wouldn't discuss the details in public.

SR 10-12-2002 06:08 PM

Things are weird here as well.....
Signups have been quite good untill today.
Could still have been better the other days but okay......
Today my signups completlly sucks while my traffic is a little less but it doesn't match my signups at all.......

The rest of the week me rebills have dropped with 35% or so maybe more...... while they are up to normal today.....
all very weird

Scully0325 10-13-2002 11:17 PM

it's baseball
