What if we did this ? .....

What if 50 of us threw $12,000 each into a pot to start a new set of websites.

Here is how it might break down

Server cluster to run the paysites $ 30,000
Server cluster for master affiliates to market with $ 50,000
Business setup & merchant stuff $ 20,000
Site design for 10 niche sites $ 40,000
content purchase $ 400,000
Bandwidth/Colo for first 9 months 100Mb/sec $ 60,000

Each master affiliate would then get:

95% recurring after CC charges
35% of all affiliates that they send to the 60/40 affiliate program
300GB of traffic to use for marketing with additional bandwidth at cost
BYO front end's

We would use the remaining 5% to purchase more content and to pay for colo/traffic.

All 404/cross sells/backend traffic would be put into a pool that we use to pay for trips to the shows, prizes and of course more content for the sites

Each master affiliate would be required to put in 25 hours a month on the upkeep and maintaining of the sites, or we could just take 5% from the cut to pay for a few fellows to keep it up

So who wants in ???

But really wouldn't something like this work ??? We could even just drop the niche's and focus totally on video I mean even at retail price $400K would purchase 2000 titles from adultlegal.

Oh well I thought it might be worth a spin.

That all sounds very socialist. Like some co-op business or something. Maybe you could dig up Karl Marx to run the program?

Thanks for the offer Tiger, but I think the best route is to use an escrow company. That way once everyone has committed their $$$ we can release $10K to get the business paperwork started. Once the corp is setup and everyone has their shares, the next $40K is released in order to procure the website design and the hardware needed to run the operation. And finally the remaining $$$ are released in order to purchase the content, pay for the traffic and get under way once the design is ready

" What if 50 of us threw $12,000 each into a pot to start a new set of websites. "

... with even 2 people involed it´s kinda hard to get all ideas under one hat. I wonder how this will work out with 50.

I think you misunderstand how it works, this won't be a democracy It mearly gives the smaller webmasters a chance to have access to a large pool of content and websites, and to be able to make about what a regular website would if they started out just on their own. Same concept as like an adultbouncer or deluxepass, except that you get around $20 per sale versus $10 with one of those avs's, and you can also have affiliates that you make the same account as if they were in any other affiliate program.

the idea works in principle but in reality ...... hopeless.
it would fall apart within weeks - just the nature of people and this business.

this does work in the real world though. i know of a drug store chain and a home improvement store chain that are set up like this.

i don't even think many two man partnerships work out in the long run. i know of lots of partnerships where one person bought out the other finally.

i don't think anybody's laughing at your idea, cuz in theory it works, just not in reality.

If you're all serious about this i can come to the table with the big peice of the pie for everything and you all/we all could do it for a fraction of the price
