AUSSIES - where in Queensland is the best place to live?

I'm thinking of getting the fook out of Sydney and having a seachange. Noosa or somewhere like that maybe.

Am looking for a town that's not too big, but still has bars / restaurants and a decent beach.

Sydney is getting hellishly expensive and it's damn cold already

I know its very touristy, but the Gold Coast is always fun. Lots of bars/restaurants. Sunshine coast is very beautiful...but if you are from Sydney you will be bored to death within a month. My gf is from up there, and I dread going up for any longer than a few days.

Hervey Bay, Noosa, Coolangatta .. there's some really nice coastal towns between Harvey Bay and Surfers ... enjoy your seachange!

I'm not on the fastest conncetion with Telstra atm, speeds are below.

I haven't had any issues with drop-outs ect ect.... I'm just upgrading to 20000/1000kbps so see how that goes..

Thanks for the heads up. I'll fly up there with my wife when we're back from New Caledonia to suss out the whole area.

This is on the fastest connection with Telstrassholes in Sydney - a slow internet connection would drive me crazy.

It sucks that I lived in Australia 25yrs and never got to the Gold Coast. My brother went and he told me Surfer's is gorgeous. He stayed there for a while.

I may go when I get back. Either way, You will find Australia beautiful. Enjoy!

Gold Coast is NOTHING like what it used to be but if you like going out to clubs/pubs then it might just be the place for ya. Otherwise there is always Brisbane itself.
