may he rest in peace though and not be bothered by all those that were killed by those weapons he defended

Moore edited that all to hell to try to make Heston look like an idiot. Nice way to treat an old man with the beginning stages of Alzheimer's. The scene would have been better if it ended with Heston chasing Moore off his property with a gun.

Did someone kill him with an illegal assault weapon that the NRA wanted legalized?

That would be poetic justice IMO.

May he rest in peace. :(

Good. One less vote for the empire of evil. And adios to a shitty, over rated ham of an actor and a right wing nut job. Too bad he wasn't shot with one of his own guns.

Ted Nugent.

:winkwink:

Anybody who didn't like his acting simply think of the era all his greats came from. He was THE MAN in an era of absolute giants. Nobody filled the epic leader better than Heston. Planet of the Apes was GREAT! Hell even his portrayal of I Am Legend was really good... I loved the bad guys being hippies :)

Forget a few gun related sound bites and look at his defense of the bill of rights. In an era when it wasn't exactly good for your career to support black people he really went out on a limb and was easily the highest profile (white) name even helping MLK and surprisingly never used his famous planet of the apes line on them....

How exactly do you consider someone that marched with Dr. Martin Luther King a right wing nut job? Another clueless individual raised on sound bites!

That's such a stupid and incredibly clueless comment, I'm embarrassed for you.

P.S. Welcome to my ignore list so I won't have to waste my time again.

Bowling For Columbine really hurt his rep

Yeah, Heston didn't hold a pro-gun rally near Columbine right after the school shooting there, Michael Moore just makes shit up. That video tape of the event was obviously doctored. :helpme:helpme

Although I've never seen eye to eye with his stance on abortion I'd say that your post is excellent and spot-on. Something I had forgotten but remembered it today was that he was also the president of the screen actors guild at one time. An academy award winning actor with a multitude of blockbusters and beloved films under his belt... I'd say he had nothing further to prove to anyone.

One of the more outspoken advocates of civil rights there ever was. Even though I disagree with one or two of his opinions I can still admit the man deserves any and all accolades he has or will recieve.
