My FSC fees are due - should I continue paying?
I've been paying my dues to the FSC for over 2 years now. Mainly because it was supposed to fight the 2257 and other BS laws. I see nothing that was done on that front by the FSC. Instead, they took the money and piped into this silly piracy protection campaign that they got going ( which doesn't even apply to my business ).
I feel that not only they didn't do the job I was supporting them to do - they kinna tricked me into giving them money to pursue a not very important cause. Opinions? |

Fighting the US Government isn't cheap and neither is lobbying. They always fight the same fight, Title 18 § 2257. They push back which in itself is something. Someone has to.

Well, this seems not to be very easy, but I agree with tony404 to contact and tell about your new ideas. I don't think they will ignore it.

Yes, but at this point don't you think the result is not worth the money? Plus, they took the money and did something different with it than fighting the fight that we wanted them to fight.

It's a good question. I was a big supporter of them and agree with Tucker that someone needs to do it. But I've been disenchranchised by their shift to piracy and their lack of communications with the community.

you answered yer own question No, you didnt get your moneys worth plain and simple.
The only lobbying they do and interests they even remorely represent are those of the porn valley crowd...they lobby in Cali and thats about it and they arent very effective at that. I suggest you send your money to Rondee Kamins instead, she did with her own money what the FSC couldnt do with all they could beg borrow and steal and scare out of people. Rondee got 2257 ruled unconstitutional and never asked anyone else for a dime. The FSC begged a lot....and accomplished nothing.

Just the fact that this thread doesn't get many replies shows that people are no longer passionate about this one way or another.
