Evolution vs Creationism

A little girl asked her mother: How did the human race appear?

The mother answered: God made Adam and Eve and they had children and so all of mankind was made.

Two days later she asks her father the same question.

The father answered: Many years ago there were monkeys from which the human race was developed.

The confused girl returns to her mother and says: Mom, how is it possible that you told me that God created the human race and Dad says they were developed from monkeys.

The mother answered: Well dear, it is very simple. I told you about my side of the family and your father told you about his side.

Cute joke. But in reality that answer would mess up a creationists head. Poor kid wouldn't be able to get things straight unless they were completely brainwashed and could use Religious deflection skills.

I like the idea that we were evolved from Animals over God creating Humans. It is more peaceful to realise.

Obviously god fucks up alot of shit.
It's pretty clear God fucked with Humans in some manor though.

About 90 minutes south of me, in Kentucky, there's a creation science museum. Evidently some bible-thumpers raised a few million dollars and erected this monument to ignorance and superstition, which now draws millions of visitors per year to its vapid halls, where rational thought is unwelcome.

I'd want to go there and get a t-shirt, myself.

I always thought that the creationists must think their God is a real dumbass. If I were a God and I were creating something like life on this planet the ability to evolve and adapt would be very high on my list of things to design in.

Most people understand this, and now Christians say that god created us to "micro" evolve which is why Blacks and Indians and Asians exist.

"Macro" evolution however is an absurd and blasphemous thought.

i was listening on the radio to a blurb about tour groups to science museums where they take kids and convince them that science is wrong and that god did everything. it was pretty disturbing

Evidently they have all these dioramas showing Noah's ark, and proof of the big flood, and the location of the Garden of Eden, and lots of pseudo-scientific claptrap "proving" that God made the world in seven days and that the Grand Canyon is only 5000 years old, etc.

What a bunch of hooey. I think we should organize a field trip there.

There must be money to be made with people like that. They are stupid enought to believe in nonsense like that, think about all the other great things you can get them to buy!

Use it as a God given market place

Btw Baddog. Darwin doesn't say we are decendents of monkeys. He actually says that's not the case.
