some search engine partners of miva show ads on pages with spyware/viruses. maybe some blackhat tactics.. most likely it was a jealous competitor filing multiple complaints.

I still have 3 or 4 domains on domainnamesystems.com.
They used to be pretty good a really long time ago, but because of them I've lost some of my best domains.-uno

sorry to hear. Transfer the domain asap, and then chargeback the $100. I am pretty sure you can do that.
A "godaddy sucks" website would be nice too, you will feel nice if you could save some potential customers from going to them. If you do so, let me know .. i'll happily link to it with "godaddy" and "godaddy reviews"Comment

Is your domain at least active now?
I recently transferred some domains out from godaddy and couldn't figure out how to expedite the progress... like most registrars they give you very little information about transferring domains FROM them, but at least some of the others include an "agree to this transfer" link in their notification email. Godaddy didn't.Comment

I put the request, its been pending for about 12 hours. Of course GoDaddy is saying I only have 24 hours to do the request. What a great professional company i'm dealing with.....Is your domain at least active now?

GoDaddy quite frequently "suspends" domains that are of an explicit adult nature and/or is associated with controversal content ... it's a risk of using GoDaddy.
For folks there, a way of reducing the risk is NOT using GoDaddy's redirection / webhosting services for such domains / content - this alone can make a huge difference.
However, the number of domains one has with GoDaddy, seemingly, makes little to no difference from the various complaints I've read about over the years.
Personally, I find GoDaddy to be excellent for "mainstream" domains / content, but not other stuff - for that there are better registrar choices.
And finally, for those with domains associated with extremely controversal content, etc the safest choice is to become an ICANN accredited registrar - it's not cheap, but it's the best way to secure one's domains, since registrars hold domains, not registrants.

sad part is as a big company like that, the 100 dollars it took to piss off WG will end up costing them 1000s and 1000s for what? some pissed off competitor of WG that decided to make mad complaints and go daddy just bought it instead of looking at both sides.
guilty until guilty i guess is their motto. thank god i got rid of them and network sucklutions years ago.Comment

I once bought a domain there and uploaded a temp page to my host just so I could see when it was resolving.
Then I went away for a few days to visit my mother who was in the hospital.
Came home to a boiler-plate email from the registrar in question, saying that they had received spam complaints and I had XX amount of time to resolve it with them or they would do blah blah blah.
Being in the mood I was in, I crafted a very boiler-plate response, mimicing theirs as exactly as I could while still being unique. I got an angry response that I'd better take them seriously as this was a very serious matter. To which I told them there's a single file on the domain that says "test" on it, and no email account setup by me and if they would like to explain to me exactly how they concluded that I was spamming in their investigation, that I would be thrilled to treat it with the utmost seriousness.
Do I need to say that I'm no longer working with them? No. I do not.
Best of luck for a speedy fix!43-922-863 Shut up and play your guitar.

get out of godaddy and prepare for the we want you back calls they will come a plentyComment

I moved everything from godaddy and directnic awhile back after hearing alot of complaints on here about both. I forget the specifics now because it's been so long, but I know that godaddy would suspend domains for next to nothing....if you got a spam complaint with no proof they would suspend you....makes it too easy for your competition to disrupt your business.
I have all of my domains with Moniker right now.
Another good option for you Charles, since I think you said you host some things with natnet and really like them, is to use their natnames service.
If you register your domains through a host you trust then you can probably sleep better at night. If they were to screw you over or not "fight the guys upstairs" for you when a complaint rolled in, they would be risking alot more business than just an $8/yr domain.

Registry Policies?
It wasn't caused by you (even/possibly unknowingly) violating the below link, right?
https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/legal...POLICY&ci=3831
Is there any registry that consistently gets high marks from it's customers? If so, which one/one's?
Thanks!

That's pretty screwed up, just a few weeks ago I heard a similar story about NetSol (most of us abandoned them years ago).. Definitely time to consider the policies of registrars and make some changes. I really like Chris and the team at Moniker but what do we know of the beliefs of Oversee.net (the new owner)?

Yes.
Which is why I have said in tube site, torrents, and other sites threads that it is easy to kill them through their host, registrar, or billing/processing companies.
I just contacted them last week with half a dozen sites who I had e-mailed about copyright and they did not remove my content in 24 hours. So I take it to the next level. One was a call to their main processor, paypal. Two of the others had GoDaddy as registrars. So they also were hit with DMCA, and copyright notice.
This week will be contacting the big G (google) to get them all removed from the index.
It's called sweet justice.Comment
