                                                  He lives as a male and is legally a male. His neighbors had no idea he used to be a she. The kid will be raised by a mother and a father. The couple is having a baby this way because the wife is unable to have children. There are lots and lots of fucked up shitty fathers out there, so I'm thinking this guy that is going through all of this for a child is going to do a better job than most.

                                                      That may be true, but I feel sorry for that kids when it gets made fun of when other people (especially kids) find out. Kids can be so cruel!

                                                                  Yes, kids suck. And so do a lot of adults. Regardless of who you were born to and in what environment, you are going to get teased. It's being lucky enough to grow up in a caring and supportive home environment that helps ease the journey of growth. And in that, again, it sounds like this kid has the better odds.

                                                                  Also, you'd be surprised how much more open kids are than most adults these days. I am openly bisexual and have had to endure some shunning by my neighbors because of it. However, the teenage friends of my daughter could care less, and even joke with one another about getting married someday when they get "sick of boys." Assuming this family lives in the right area, the idea of transsexuals will likely receive the same acceptance in the next 10 years.
