Stats like that says nothing when it's standing alone.

You need to look at the percentage of people from different layers of the society.

Black people are over represented in the lowest layer and therefore also over represented in the criminal stats.

Here in Denmark we have the same situation with 2nd generation Immigrants from the middle east.
Black people in Denmark however is next to no problem at all. I think the percentage of black people in prison in Denmark is like 1%.
Because in Denmark black people are not that heavily represented in the lowest class.

It is all a matter of how they are raised by their parents, treated by the society and how well they get educated.

The only thing that doesn't really matter is race ;)

Perhaps imitating the thug mentality from music and videos and perpetuating a stereotype isn't one of the best things a man can do to better himself, regardless of what the 'race' is. But unfortunately, some peoples' minds are so easily moldable that they fall into this mind trap quite easily.
