How often do you just let domains expire?

I was just thinking that in the all the time that I have been registering domains that I think there is only one that I let expire and that was by mistake rather than design. Tons sitting there just doing nothing much but I still renew them each year.

How often do you just let domains expire?

When I got out of the business the first time I let a bunch expire cause I wasnt gonna do anything with em and they probably werent worth that much anyway.

Aside from my original domains (which were incredily stupid) I have never just let one expire. I intend on developing all of them, but I'd like to think those I don't get around to will have a resale value that covers the renewal fees paid over the years.

I let them go via sale or expiration, but I will not be buying anymore.

I let a few drop every month...

mostly misspellings and really really bad names that I regged while stoned and thought were great at the time, lol...

however, there were a few that I regged back in 2001-2003 that I let drop and now wish I hadn't... oh well...

I think I've only let 1 domain expire in my life!

                              I'm just a newbie.

About every 3 months or so I let 5 to 10 go... Usually they are outdated or proven to be crap.

I let a couple of .us domains expire after I found out that the United States Department of Commerce was refusing to allow domain privacy services on those domains. Other than that, I don't let stuff drop. I did have a worthless domain that I registered by mistake (typing flail followed by failure to notice the error) that I wanted to drop, but I listed it for $5 on Namecheap's sales platform and it was gone in an hour.

I let expire a few every years... My registrar sends me about 10 remimders through... next time I'll probably delete them instead...
