Our Tax Dollars at Work
KBR subsidiary of Haliburton the company than Cheney ran and has the biggest contract in the Iraq war, has been having workers use cancer causing materials and telling them they are a mild irritant.
Now that's bad enough, but they hired them thru the Caymen Islands so they didn't have to pay SS or medicare on them. I am so sick of these companies getting my tax dollars and blatantly circumventing the law, all for the bottom line. Sorry, but if you have a contract from the US gov. you should have to use US employees. I don't care where the fuck the work is. What the fuck happened to the war profiteering laws? http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Hallib...rs_0 325.html |

What is worse is if the contract was inflated because it included dangerous conditions and the extra costs involved ... then went cheap on safety measures.
I'm the first one to cut the government slack but it's getting ridiculous. |

The part that pisses me off the most is that they blatantly went to great measures as not to pay for social security and medicare benefits. This is a US contract and they don't want to pay what a US worker would get.
