thats my point. these people are teachers. they are crazy. they are sexual predators teaching children. they are hired... they work there for 1-2 decades, red flags are going up all over the place but they can't be fired or disciplined or warned or made to go into counseling because of teachers unions and tenure

2. 17 is not a little kid. Also, 17 is above the age of consent in most if not all states in the USA. Teachers shouldn't be having sex with students of any age, but rape it is not. I'd say the same if it were male teachers with 17 year old female students. Fuck, 99% of everybody I know had had sex by age 17.

3. What the fuck? As a woman in my mid 20s, the last person in the world I'd fuck is some nasty 17 year old guy who probably doesn't even know how to wash his balls yet, much less how to fuck. NEW PORT RICHEY ? A Pasco County substitute teacher accused of having sex with a student initially was interested in having the teen date her daughter, according to documents released this morning.

Marinelli, who was a permanent substitute at Mitchell High School, started talking to the 17-year-old, telling him he was "on the list" of potential suitors for her 15-year-old daughter, according to a complaint affidavit released by the Pasco County Sheriff's Office at a news conference Tuesday morning.

The teacher and student then spent more time together.

This is what happened, according to the complaint.

Mutual flirting occurred, and the boy was invited several times to Marinelli's house on 9824 Nicklaus Drive, and on one visit, Marinelli told him to leave the house and meet her down the street. There was no date provided for this meeting in the records.

They were in an unidentified car, and started kissing and fondling.

"This is bad," she said several times while kissing the 17-year-old.

Ok she KNEW and FELT what she was doing was wrong while she was doing it.

Marinelli and the boy saw each other regularly after that.

Sometime later, in early January, the two met again at her home, where they had sex.

Interesting point. And the vast majority of first world countries have age of consent set somewhere below 18, usually 14 - 16. So, either the vast majority of advanced civilization is pervy or we in the US are the ones who have the odd position. It's also useful to point out that age of consent in the US used to be much lower than 18 in most states, but there's been a successful effort to raise it over the last several decades as a result of the conservative backlash against the sexual revolution.

Not so much the age in this issue as much as it is the abuse of a position of power is it?

Charts like that are very misleading as they don't tell the entire story.. For example, in Canada it was 14 (I think it was just raised to 16)... HOWEVER.. there are lots of clauses in the law such as this one..

....makes it an offence for an adult to have any such contact with boys and girls over 14 but under 18, where a relationship of trust or authority exists between the adult and child.

So even though based on charts like that you posted you might think it's A-ok, many of the laws have additional conditions that may make the age actually higher than the chart indicates.

A teacher definately has a relationship of trust and authority with their students.. So in Canada, what all those teachers did was illegal.. The laws are typically written to protect "kids" from predators while understanding that "kids" are going to have sex with each other.
