Adword Guys: WTF is up with this April 1 Policy?

Important Change to URL Policy Enforcement
Starting in April, display URLs for new ads will be required to match their destination / landing page URLs, without exception. Please adjust your URLs accordingly when creating new ads.
Were there some serious abuse problems or what?

Lets say im linking to sexsearch, or aff, or dating gold....using the straight affiliate link.....not only does it look better to use a normal domain

I can get free type in traffic simply by putting up a domain that is short & easily memorable. Or a domain that his hilarious, etc.

I don't see it as being "abuse" though....i see it as free traffic.

Plus if you don't know what you're doing, it could end up costing you more $.

Lets just say that I've kinda mastered that particular loophole....& i don't feel as if its something google needs to worry about. I think some asshole in their abuse dept was constipated one morning & brought the idea to his boss.

    FUCKERS

personally i think it will only help in the long run....if you have a solid landing page there is no real reason to worry...plus the really big players have custom setups that go direct to join..etc so they can make their own hardsell....so it all looks like "their" site
