right now at 59.90 and I believe that it opened at 59.50 So thats not much of a gain, and the low today was 55

You compare it to Master Card which is a good comparison if you factor in a few things.

Visa is almost twice the size of Mater Card
Visa's IPO is for 420 million shares
Master Card has just over 87 million shares out

I'm sure plenty of people made a nice chunk of change today... but it's a little too risky for me, it could drop to low 50s very easily by the end of the week (even by the end of today)... if you are going to play this you better have a clue, otherwise it's not much different than playing at a craps table...

The stock can and probably will go down a lot in the next year, as the US economy is currently not very stable and will probably only get worse. This causes people to spend less money, and that is bad for the card companies as their profits will go down.

Or its a careful balance between those who are now stuck making minimum payments only which drives up profits and then of course those who downright default on their balances.
