I'm fucking hooked on Beef Jerky... particularly Chilli Beef Jerky but any beef jerky will do. Is there anyone else who's hooked on this stuff? If so, can you recommend a brand that offers beef jerky in a JUMBO sized bag.

get a dehydrator and make your own - thenyou can make jerky with beef - turkey, fish, and the odd siccash employee that "accidently" passes away.

Slim Jim doesn't qualify as beef jerky, it is more like a mini salami. I think they call them beef snacks or something. Now they really are like dog food, but I love em' myself.

i am a jerky freak. I have to control myself or else i could probably eat it 24 hours a day.

There are sooooooooooooooooo many kinds of beef jerky, the real high quality stuff is REALLY expensive, it's just strips of beef right off the cow, no monkey business. Most of the stuff on the market like Lawrey's is chopped and formed jerky. I still love it.

If u go to Price Club, Costco or any of those kinds of stores you can usually find some big ass bags of jerky pretty cheap, i forget the brand name exactly, Sorento or something like that.

The Pemmican brand jerky is high quality. I feel guilty buying it cuz it's very expensive.

Jerky ain't a health food but if u don't get the stuff that's processed with tons of chemicals there are lots of things much more unhealthy than beef jerky.

Beef Jerky was invented by North American Indians, pemmican is what we know today as beef jerky.

damn now i am jonesin' for a fix...........

and there are lots of gourmet beef jerky stores online, all sorts of different styles/flavorings.

I don't need that teriyaki bullshit, just give me the real deal jerky

I used to love beef jerky!

I eventually found a brand, "Hawaiian Ponilolo" (hawaiian cowboy, basically)

Man, that stuff was the SHIT. About 8 bucks for 4 oz though. I got it whenever I could.

I moved, and all the beef jerky ive had since has been complete shit in comparison. Sad thing is, when I flew back to visit some friends, I hit up EVERY store which used to carry it, and nobody did anymore.

Figure the company shut down. Haven't had jerky in like 3 years now.

Other countries also have their own versions of beef jerky. By accident i was in a little grocery store one day, and it was owned by South Africans, they had imported different South African foods and candy to go along with the regular groceries.

On top of a shelf i saw a jar and inside it was some stuff that looked like beef jerky but it was flat like beef jerky. So i asked the lady if it was beef jerky, she reached in and gave me a piece to try. It was very much like beef jerky, just not as tasty and a bit of a funny taste to it. She told me it was called 'biltong' - South AFrican version of beef jerky. Maybe cows in South Africa aren't as good as ours.

i discovered beef jerky when i was 12 and went to California to stay with my cousins for a summer. I had never heard of it before.
So the first time my cousin and I went down the street from his house to go to a store to buy candy. He took me to a liquor store.
And there on the counter was the jar of beef jerky. He took some and I asked him what it was ..........beef jerky numbnuts he replied......u never heard of beef jerky where you come from?

Walking home i tried it for the first time and if any of you remember the cartoon dog Snuffles, the dog who if you gave him a dog biscuit he's go into some kind of trance and start floating up in the sky, that's the way i was with the jerky.
Spent the next month caring more about when i could go back and get more jerky more than i did about going to Disneyland and Magic Mountain!
