thanks was thinking of releasing it under a modification of the creative common licience so singers, bands could use the song and make money as long as they gave me credit for the song.

Why would they have to give you credit? Wouldn't it be fair use now ?

It's public domain now... I user submitted it to a lyrics website and time shifted its rights to the internet cloud.

The irony of you stealing someone else's music and then thinking you can re-release it under a CC license because you changed the lyrics is very amusing.

And it doesn't even scan. "Internet killed the tele-vis-ion" would be better.

Or you creating something original would be better still.
