has anyone had any experience with this malware? I just spent the past couple hours trying to help a friend of mine who is sooo not internet savvy and fell for their scare tactics and bought their program... anyways I googled and called and basically concluded she's prolly not even gonna get the software she bought, blah blah blah...
anyways just curious if anyone has had any interaction or dealing with them personally... did they only rip you off for the proggy, or did they take it to new heights and used the card info for any other thievery of funds, etc?
when I called the 800 number on file with her bank for the transaction the guy hung up on me when I tried getting specific info about them:
me: where is your company located?
him: eastern europe
(I shit you not, he actually said this, lol)
me: eastern europe is a region, could you be more specific?
him: *sigh* Ukraine
me: what is the address?
*click* he hung up on me
btw, I have already chastised her for being so internet dumb... though I'm afraid what I said fell upon deaf ears...
