great thread... good move to get new people.. this is a great idea

Ycaza 03-15-2008 09:52 AM

wpw this thread is really creating some angst. I am so milquetoast when it comes to posts usually. I haven't even thrown in the programming or script writing/fixing part too yet. oh yeah the diswtributed real-time streaming with no buffer is almost ready too. :)

You know even if ycazza's idea is kinda strange and off the wall you guys really take the cake when it comes to low class bottom feeders.:Oh crap

I was going to stay out of this, but I have to interject. In all fairness to SI I know for fact that they have offered their services to others that had unmanaged servers and had an issue that was being difficult. So I know this "unique" offer has been made before.

Additionally, I have seen many owners and techs offer suggestions and assistance to non-customers many times. We have done it too.

Actually It doesn't look like this raised any "furor" with any of the hosts other than oc3 and pacific rack which is the co you used to work for. It dosen't seem to have made any other real hosts give it the time of day.:2 cents:
The bottom line is if anyone is not getting the support they think is good for what they need or are paying for they should be looking for a better solution anyway.:2 cents::pimp

Phatservers is a great company and I'm in the process of moving all my shit there. Whenever I have had an issue 24 hours a day I've been answered within the hour. Which has been only a handful of times i've had to ask for something and I've been with them for about 3 years. They never really have an issue. But sadly they have finally come up short and I might need your expertise.

They have not been able to find my wallet could you please help me out.

i guess you didn't see my post, or the other hosting companies posts either (since you say its only PR and OC3)
if i was worried about having bad support, i wouldnt post about it, i would drive down to my NOC and do something about it.

i am completely confident in my support, just like Caz is of his own.
I don't have to do anything but search pacificrack on webhostingtalk.com, google, or right here on GFY.com to find out how well PR is doing. :thumbsup

We are not threatened by this post one bit. The issue I had personally with this thread was the fact that instead of Ycaza saying "Most host's have little to no night support" he stated that all host's do not have good night support.

If he want's to offer service to those who need it that is cool and I welcome it but to make a statement as big as that just was not cool, i do not know if he meant anything by it or not. Like I said I like Ycaza, he is one of the coolest people on the board and outside the board I have met in the adult biz, I just have an issue with what he said.

peace
