Nah, that would be dumb. Only thing I do, is constantly define the words I use for people because no one knows what they mean. Words like enervate, garrulous, and didactic.

I doubt that two Americans out of 100 could explain what the Maine was and what war it's destruction precipitated.

I say "word" probably a little too much.

my dad uses the phrases "point blank" and "plain and simple" so much I wanted to make a drinking game out of it at family gatherings. it annoys me to no end however.

My uncle says "Naturally" all the time. I'm not sure where mine are but I'm sure someone I know will jump on this thread soon enough to point them out.

There was a period of time that, for whatever reason, I'd say "No Doubt" if I was in agreement with someone...

My friends noticed it, however, and started singing the lyrics from a different "No Doubt" song every time I said it.
After 30 different rendititions of "I'm just a girl"... i couldn't take any more, I guess.

I don't think I've used the phrase in over 2 years now. :)

I'd take that bet...

especially if I get to pick at least 2 of the 100 Americans. :-)

Almost 30% of Americans have at least a bachelor's degree... I'd hope that at least half of that group (therefore around 14 out of 100 Americans) would remember that from their history requirement.

And then you have the book-smart peeps who don't have a college degree.

I'll give you the average American is a mentally lazy mofo... but not all of us are that way. :2 cents:

I could probably find at least two as well. Of course they all graduated high school and college ;)
