"There" indicates location, "their" indicates posession and "they're" indicates contraction (of 'They Are'). Repeat that 1,000 times and you will be on your way to grammatical glory!

Thus: Let Their Be Engrish! |
LOL That's funny. I try to keep my grammar in check but we all slip up at times.
|
Okay, now do "to, too, two"
After that, I have a serious bitch in the hopper about people's inability to spell "Probably".... prolly, probly, probally... Don't even get me started with idiots who say "Libary" instead of library. *bitchslap* |

EDIT: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=prolly Shortened version of "probably". Typically used in online conversations, although REALLY lazy people have started using it in verbal conversations as well... Web-slang abbreviation of "probably". Used extensively in forums and instant messsaging worldwide. |
Ha, wait until the current generation begins to speak and write narratives as it texts...
I'm with PBJohn; so bad I edit my own IMs... I still feel we are building long-term credibility every time we are composing an email or a thread/post... On another note, I was on ICQ with an EU Sponsor yesterday with excellent written skills who preferred ICQ to the phone - he told me he learned to write in English on GFY but his verbal skills were not as accomplished - best validation of GFY I have heard in a while :thumbsup And for those of you for whom English is not your native language... Don't ever apologize for your English language skills - they are almost guaranteed to be superior to the average American's foreign language proficiency... :warning http://www.adultweblife.com/JoeD/images/EUR3-14.jpg Currently One USD = 1.5782 EUR? |
