It had no problem with Alderan, so I wouldn't see why Earth would be any problem either.

It sounds like it wouldn't cause all that much damage, even if all the variables did line up, and it hit us with the most force that we think it capable of.

1 - 2% drop in sunlight penetration... hell... throw that into the "global warming" equation, and it might even be a good thing.
