hard drive problem
ok, so i installed another hard drive on the secondary master on my machine. the bios recognize it with no problem, but when i start the windows me, it do not setup a driver letter for it! big problem, anyone can help me on this issue?

I think this happend to someone I knew.. im not sure, but i recall jumpers being a factor,
also, try installing another drive to see if thats the problem, or right click on it and go to properties and manually set a letter?

Install PartitionMagic to check whether it recognises the drive... I've never used ME but you may not have a drive letter assigned in the GUI because it may not be formatted....
Just a thought! |

when you buy a new hard drive you have to run fdisk to partition the drive to the aquired size and then make it active. reboot and format the hard drive under dos. 98 boot disk.
fdisk is done through dos with the boot disk also |
