The origin is from the book Lolita which described a sexual relationship between a very underage girl and a grown man. Subsequent movies based off this book have also played on the role of the "lolita" as underage. The definition of the word lolita is "a seductive adolescent girl". Adolescence is typically not describing someone 18 or older, it describes someone in the midst of puberty.

I'm not trying to get into the argument about the domains, I could care less. Lolita was used prominently by many adult sites years ago and I'm sure a lot of old timers in the industry have them in their portfolio somewhere. I can think of a handful that were extremely popular that had lolita in the name. They of course were catered toward legal teen content.

Nonetheless, lets not change what the word lolita was intended to mean. It's always had a connotation to describing underage girls.

Show everyone that there's some actual illegal content on any of those domains and I'm sure myself and many others would be more inclined to side with you, jet, and the other brainiacs spouting morality here.

The book isn't banned, the word itself isn't illegal. Visa banned the word "lolita" as far as it having anything to do with processing goes. I dont see any processing being done on those domains, do you?

If there's no illegal content going on, and no illegal processing going on, then why not have a cookie and shut the fuck up?

Illegal or not, if I ran a successful affiliate program I wouldn't want those types of domains in my name. Should the program ever run into problems with content thats exactly the kind of stuff that would be used against it.

It is some highly immoral and disgusting names but there are no crime committed here.

I would never buy them in the first place. BUT... I wasn't buying a whole lot of domains back in the 90's when the word "lolita" wasn't considered the horrific evil it is now. If I had, I would probably hang onto them as well, like Mojo is doing, if only to prevent anyone from aquiring and developing them.

As I said, the domains are just strings of words with a .com at the end. They aren't illegal in and of themselves, thus they can not "be used against you" as you seem to think. If that were the case then anything with the word lolita in it would be banned starting with the book, the movies, etc. Not going to happen.

Its hard to buy the good samaritan line when they are profiting off parking these "valuable" domains. Anyways, all I am saying is that I am surprised these guys are still in the old thinking that anything goes online and that owning these types of domains will never bite them in the ass.
