Now accepting Canadian dollars
I'm seeing this as a sales pitch now on US automobile advertisements.
Anyone else notice?

You wouldn't see it unless you were in Canada, typically on US stations near the border, but networks are running versions with that line in them.

I assume it's the US dealers running advertising hoping to attract Canadian buyers. Not sure how that works though, as I thought there was some new restrictions in place for bringing new vehicles across the border. (perhaps it is on used vehicles only?)

I would think tariffs would get in the way. Maybe NAFTA helps out.

Even taking into account taxes, duties, and all the paperwork you have to fill out, it can be WAY cheaper for Canadians to buy a car in the US. Particularly on high end vehicles like SUVs, P/U's, etc. A buddy of mine bought an Escalade a few months back and saved about $10k.

I think dealers in the Northern USA wont sell to Canadians. A friend of mine had to go all the way to Georgia to get his Ford Harley truck but he saved about $15,000 so that's still worth it.
