Pic of the aircraft that almost crashed in Germany... sideways!

Do you think it's the airflow pulling the standing water up from the ground, or the tip is actually scraping through it?

wouldn't any touching of the wing cause the plane to turn to the left and go out of control?

With a light touch and the ground being so wet it probably just slid. If it did touch.

I totally fault the pilot for even attempting a landing in that much wind. on approach, when you are viewing the plane through the fence, it is clear the plane is like a kite: it's floating in the air clearly held suspended by the wind and not barely under its own control. Then the tool tries to land it about 20 yards to the left of the runway, still with the wind on his tail, and tries to straighten it out and pull an ace ventura "like a glove" maneuver. He should of aborted that approach whilst still 300 ft in the air. Yea, sure it would have been a great landing if he pulled it off, but when you have 200 some odd lives in your hand logic dictates you play it safe.

Seems the consensus elsewhere is that it's fake. If you look at the wheels you can see they're flattened, even the set that's in the air.

(This is the Air France pic... the Lufhansa one is obviously real)

Side note: anyone find it slightly morbid that in bad weather more people turn up with video and still cameras?? I've seen it happen at my local airport. They're waiting for something bad to happen.

Bit of cut and polish along with some elbow grease and a chamois will fix that right up.
