How have your CCBill Sales been today?

our european processing node went live today and we have noticed a HUGE improvement in sales, especially on european traffic...to levels we have not seen since early Jan. We now directly process out of Phoenix, Ashburn, and Amsterdam (very few processing companies have this type of reach)

On an individual level, what are you guys seeing?

1:416 right now for the day.
(but 1:2505 for Feb 2008)

About 30% of my traffic is from Europe. I must say I like the change and hope it stays. Thank you very much for this!

I am not sure why it is doing this but as we all know the internet with BGP is a wierd animal. I can say that we are seeing a number of sales going thru the amsterdams servers ,and maybe it is just a good couple of days. The good news is sales are up across the board 20%. I would sure like to believe it was due to all the money and time we spent deploying transaction servers around the world.

I noticed an increase checking my stats this morning. I was quite happy.

Did you guys also change anything with Japanese transactions? I noticed a few more of those also.

Yes we added eight new backbone providers with transaction servers in 3 different geographic locations around the world. We are looking at deploying servers in Asia currently.

We have really exploded on the Non Adult Side and becoming a world class transaction provider. As a result we just keep adding more and more benefits for our Clients.

New Backbone Providers
Qwest
High Winds
Savvis
ATT
MCI
Sprint
Global Crossing
Time Warner

its amazing how much expanding your presence outside the US influences transactions…with this recent addition of a direct processing node, as well as putting our signup forms on a Content Delivery Network, its boosted transaction in uk, germany, france, spain, japan, au…

its nice to see the outlay for these projects paying off for our clients and it’s a great time to be doing it…id bet over the next 6-9 months, the ratio of foreign to us sales moves to 2/5 (its been about 1/3 for years)

chrisje, here is the answer i got:

The devices take time to learn who should go to what location. As new DNS servers make requests they are send to either our primary location (PHX) or secondary location (Ashburn) for the first request. The device then learns which node will perform best for the requester (this is based on latency, load on the servers in the cluster, number of hops, etc) and will send subsequent requests to that location. So this might of been the device learning where he should go (because this was the first request) or Ashburn may be a better connection for him. I am going to guess that it was a learning cycle for the device based on the traceroute but that is an educated guess at best.

We have had some really good submission percentages that last few days. If that is because of these changes than we say good job and keep the improvements coming!

I normally don't make many sales with my solo girl blog, mainly due to the fact I only get about 1k a traffic a day to it right now. But yesterday I couldn't believe my eyes... TWO sales in one day! For many of you, that is nothing... but for me it was quite a surprise. I wonder if it is related to this or not... or it was just dumb luck. Because I had only made one other CCBill sale the entire month of February. I guess only time will tell. But I am VERY excited to find out! This will certainly be nicest thing happen to me in a long time as an Adult Webmaster if it is related...

I'm seeing a major improvement - this is the first I can recall the majority of the day sales coming from outside the us.

I am seeing Mauritius, Russian Federation, and Netherlands sales in the same day - very rare.

Can you explain a bit about what this European processing node is? I've noticed an increase in European sales over the last few days and wondered what was going on. Can I attribute the increased Euro and GB pound sales to something CCBill is doing?

we have done many things to expand our presence outside the US in the previous months? as of a few days ago, we now have direct processing centers located in Amsterdam, Ashburn and Phoenix. Each of these facilities are capable of displaying forms and accepting transactions from consumers and his allows us to send consumers to the closest available node or processing center to ensure that connectivity is established and the transaction is processed in a timely manner. Essentially enabling our transactional system to achieve high availability AND better performance globally leading to more sign ups, better conversions, and happy customers no matter where in the world they are located. It's similar to the CDN concept expect that our system must allow dynamic data (as is the nature of transactional processing) as opposed to a CDN that typically only supports static data.

So what you mean is that it all is faster and that there are less errors?

I normally don't make many sales with my solo girl blog, mainly due to the fact I only get about 1k a traffic a day to it right now. But yesterday I couldn't believe my eyes... TWO sales in one day! For many of you, that is nothing... but for me it was quite a surprise. I wonder if it is related to this or not... or it was just dumb luck. Because I had only made one other CCBill sale the entire month of February. I guess only time will tell. But I am VERY excited to find out! This will certainly be nicest thing happen to me in a long time as an Adult Webmaster if it is related...
