WebsiteBilling.com Sets its record straight
In a recent thread posted, some of the top billers were called liars. To use language calling websitebilling.com a liar is unacceptable... Even going so far as to say "Just look now at the payment pages of WSB they now read that they are based in London, UK, when they are based in the USA." is simply wrong. Last time I checked this person was not on our payroll, so im curious how he claims to know how we run our company. We have never professed to know exactly how other companies run their operations, nor would we be so arrogant to claim such higher intellegence.
This person obviously does not do his homework and is shooting from the hip. WSB does have a sister company in the UK open since February of this year, with offices, decision makers, merchant and bank accounts processing for many merchants. We are and have been very prepared and we are not scaring anyone. We are informing our webmasters on an individual case by case basis to determine their best course of action.. depending on their location, needs , etc. Some course of action will be none. We have also written to the Author of the new regulations to get clarification on a few cross border and other questions to make sure our submerchants are correctly informed and protected, no matter what country. The Visa Regs manual is about one thousand pages and in it are many pages concerning cross border, domicile and jurisdiction issues...we intend to get perfectly clear on all pending questions. Any misalignment or noncompliance could incur a Visa fine of a minimun of 25,000 per month per noncompliant sponsored merchant....This demands responsibility when informing webmasters. Waking up on Nov 16 and finding out your billing company overlooked something will not be pleasant. Just from reading the post, language, fingerpointing, name calling and non-factual statements should make any webmaster wary... after all its your money. We are working hard to make sure our interpretaion of the new Rules is the correct one and each individual webmaster is protected depending on his/her unique circumstance.
