Iraq War Will Ultimately Cost $7 TRILLION USD!!!

This after the Bush administration lied about WMD and told us the entire war would cost around $2 Billion....

http://www.blacklistednews.com/view.asp?ID=5736

Imagine if the Dems were in the whitehouse for the past 7 years?

We wouldn't have another Democrat in office for the next 50 years!

Imagine if 911 occurred 8 months into Clinton's term?

He would have been impeached 6 months later!

Seven trillion is seven thousand billion - SEVEN THOUSAND BILLION!

7,000,000,000,000 with 12 fucking zeros!

Seven thousand billion dollars could have been spent in so many better ways it is insane!

And to top it all off, we didn't even spend it all ourselves, we borrowed it from China, the Saudis, and so many other countries, that now our currency is weaker than ever!

And in the end 1/2 of 1% of the most wealthy in the US now hold over 90% of all of the wealth in the country, and Bush wants his tax cuts for the rich to become permanent!

And then, assuming the Dems take the office back, they will be facing debts beyond anyone's comprehension. Meanwhile the Republicans are all geared up to bitch if any taxes are raised, or if any new taxes occur!

And still, I meet brainwashed Fox News and right wing radio zombies that will be voting Republican AGAIN!

What a joke!

You're wasting your time because people are stupid and would do it all over again if they could.

Bush was elected again after spending half that amount already.

So when the democrats are elected this time around what would you say would be a reasonable level of taxation to accept?

This time of year I always at least try to find a reason to believe my taxes aren't going down the rat hole they are.

Now it is just impossible...

Ya, this is a huge joke. It kind of surprises me that there is such a lack of resistance to the Bush administration. Most places outside of the Western world a leader as irresponsible as this would have been killed by now. What he has done differs very little from what dictators in 3rd world countries have done in the past. What the Bush administration has done is make a mockery of democracy and the whole democratic process. He spends your money like a spoiled rich kid who has never worked a day in his life. Look at your currency, jobs, public perception of you and your government; it's all bad. The US is going down the tube and American arrogance dictates that you ignore it and put on a happy face. I think I have a solution...why not fly some more flags, keep denying anything is wrong and everything will be ok.

Until you wake up.

SO if tax cuts are just for the rich, do the middle class have a higher or lower tax burden under this administration?

Reallocating the tax breaks for individuals making more than $250,000 per year to low and middle income people instead, could be a start, but then the rich will say that the Dems raised their taxes.

Tranferring government breaks for the big oil companies to greener technologies and a road to energy independence could be a start, but then the Dems will be blamed for attacking US business.

Taxing companies that ship our manufacturing jobs overseas, rather than giving them tax breaks could be a start, but then the Dems will be accused of isolationism, and interfering with multinationals.

Taking advantage of the 2+ million person workforce in our prison system for manufacturing and farming assistance could save us billions of dollars a year. Have them make solar panels, or whatever we want or need, to get the economy on course again, rather than holding them in cells, while we pay $50K per inmate (on average) per year, for healthcare, room and board, or send the non-violent prisoners to Iraq to shuffle out our National Guard troops that we may need here at home for a real emergency, or who knows how many thousands of ways we can make things better.

Where there is a will there is a way, but something has to change, or we are all fucked.

Yea, fuck the bush administration. I truly hope this country isn't stupid enough to put another republican in office. If that's the case the war will continue and our debt will continue to mount and eventually our economy will collapse.

Then I'll have to move to Canada or something and who the hell wants to live there? (just kidding Canadians, Canada isn't too bad)

Great idea about prisoners. I have thought this was the way to go for a long time. Mind boggling they dont do this; it would be good for the prisoner morale and good for the economy.

You are sadly sadly mistaken if you think Hillary or Obama will pull the troops out of Iraq, nevermind the 500 other bases around the world.

If they say they will, they should have no problem saying they will pull the troops out by the end of their first year or they and their vice president will resign. Other than that its just a bullshit lie to get your vote.

What did we get for that money ... and if it was well spent how much are other nations contributing? If it's for peace in the area then the Saudi's should be footing not only the bill but a profit for us also.

Man, take a wild fucking guess.. lol

So... I wonder how many semi-rich, but CLUELESS SUCKERS, still believe letting republicans handle Your tax-money is better than letting democrats do it..?

How many will, again, fall for the lies and propaganda of the ultra-rich... who spin the whole "anything more leftish is retarded and *bad*" thing only because they want more profit, and because it's getting increasingly more difficult to shelter away their fortunes offshore....... hmm?

If You've voted republican, and are now *thinking* of abandoning them... DO IT for christ's, the world's and for fucks sake!!

Or to put it another way $7 Trillion equals $7 MILLION MILLION.

That amount of waste, even for folks dealing with large corporate / state government budgets, is beyond comprehension...

All the opportunities lost - just read in Science News magazine that a bunch of federal science research programs were cut significantly ... likely leading to other nations to pick up the slack; leaving America behind. Depressing how the 21st century has turned out so far

What did we get? Don't be silly, now we have Al Queda in Iraq, we have a Taliban resurgence in Afghanistan, we have a record drug trade in Afghanistan, we've meddled in the middle east again, so now the terrorists that hated us can recruit many more followers, we have astounding gas prices, wild inflation, a recession, Bin Laden is still free, we have less of a moral highground to stand on.... I can go on and on. The Bush administration is great! I want more of the same! No change for me please, everything is going just swimingly!

All companies that supported republicans made a killing from the IRAQ war.

Lockheed martin.... halliburton.... all oil companies...

Don't swim against the tide.. flow with the smart money and I bet you wouldn't be writing this post right now.

Its a sad fact but thats just how the world works unfortunately.. greed overwhelms everything else in a capitalist society.

If a democrat is elected president.. Invest your savings into alternative energy companies (solar, wind, bio fuels)
and stem cell research companies.. You'll thank me in 5 - 6 years

At this point it would be crazy to pull all of our troops out of Iraq. We need to get most of our guys out, but not overnight by any means. It would be irresponsible to pull out all of our troops at once. Iraq will collapse. I think it is silly for either party to promise full troop removal, but I do understand that stating the idea that we will eventually leave is designed to force an Iraqi goverment to (hopefully) get their shit together, rather than expect us to police their country forever... even though we are responsible for the state they are currently in.

I am actually an Independent, but I will not be wasting my vote this year. This year it is either change, or more of the same. More of the same is unacceptable, so I have to vote Democratic.

The idea that we need to vote in McCain because Iraq is in such deep shit is just rewarding this administration for putting us in this position to begin with, but I do agree, that removing all troops from Iraq in one fell swoop would be rediculous. I don't believe Obama or Hillary could or would actually do that, and I agree that that promise should be played down a bit, while maintaining that we will NOT be there much longer.

Iraq will be another Korea.

There will not be a pullout only reduction in the number of soldiers there! The fact that they built a massive embassy in baghdad..within the greenzone... I forget what it cost. but I think it was around $100million if im not mistaken.. probably more, says it all.

US will build a large base and stay in IRAQ for decades to come to protect its interest in the gulf region and not rely on Kuwait or the Saudis .. because the Saudi regime itself is hanging on to power by a thin stripe!

You are missing the point though. Both parties want us there for a very very long time. Voting dem will just be voting for a different bullshit lie. Oil companies and the military industrial complex are in a win win here just like they want it.

All you have to do is look at how bush1 and clinton1 hold hands skipping around the world to see they are all in bed together.

US has some of the smartest people on the planet and these people are working behind the scenes. The senators, white house staff, president are puppets!

If they spent 7 trillion dollars there, you better believe they are going to gain that back in the multiple folds.

It might not be now or 2- 3 years from now.. but moves like this are made for the much longer term!

Original cost estimates ranged over $1 billion, but Congress appropriated only $592 million in the emergency Iraq budget

I can't beleive the number of people that actually think they have a vote in the elections. Look at when Bush got in. Bush Lost the popular vote with the American public which went to the Democrats. But NOOOOOO that wasn't going to happen so the Electorial vote which is made up of Politicians are the ones that said who was going to be be president.

Secondly. How many of you remember when Regan got elected? The webster's dictionary came out MONTHS before the election even took place and ALREADY had Regan listed as the Next President. Those got pulled quick and there was an uproar...

So if you think you actually decide who the president is. Think again. History has shown that WE as the American public do no decide it. Its already been decided and will continue to be that way.

Now I will say that REPUBLICANS SUCK BALLS. ALWAYS HAVE AND ALWAYS WILL.

"We should remember that every month we stay in Iraq and Afghanistan is really costing us some $22 billion; every year, more than $250 billion. In another two years, the tally will exceed another half trillion."

They should have spent that money on making cars that work on water or other fuels and not oil. When you see 12 0's, it really makes you think is it worth it? Are we putting the western attitude on IRAQ? Nothing has changed since 911. There is still bombs going off everyday, tons of people die and some are good people that are in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Who purchased shared in companies that make bombs for US gov?

White House blocks inquiry into construction of $736m embassy in Iraq

The Bush administration is blocking an inquiry into the delay-plagued construction of the $736m US embassy in Baghdad, a senior Democrat in Congress said today.

Henry Waxman, who is chairman of the oversight committee in the House of Representatives, asked US secretary of state Condoleezza Rice today to explain why her department certified the embassy as "substantially completed" in December despite inspections that reveal continued deficiencies in the facility's water, fire alarm and kitchen systems.

The Baghdad embassy, which stands to become the largest US diplomatic facility in the world, had an original opening date of mid-2007. But the project stalled amid ballooning cost estimates as well as charges of corruption and shoddy work by the private contracting company overseeing the project.

In addition, two US state department employees who worked on the embassy project are now under criminal investigation. Waxman urged Rice to release subpoenaed documents related to the Baghdad embassy project next week or risk being forced to do so.

"It appears that the state department is concealing from Congress basic information about the status of the embassy project and the activities of the individuals and contractors involved," Waxman wrote to Rice. "This continued intransigence is inappropriate."

business as usual for this " fantastic..." administration.
